PROJECT REFLECTION SALADINO - EDU 214

Student Name: Deanna Onori

Artifact Description: Classroom Arrangement Reflection

What I learned:

For this Artifact I learned to begin using shapes to design a drawing. Once a shape was created and
looked the way I wanted, I was able to copy and paste it so it would duplicate. This worked well to make
sure that all my desks were the same size. I was also able to experiment with other shapes and fills. I
added shapes that were completely white to hide areas that needed to appear open. In addition, I was
able to utilize the text box tool to add labels to my furniture and notate where students would sit.

National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS) S Addressed:

I believe that the standard met for this project is Knowledge Constructor because the students will be
gathering information and using it to accurately place furniture in the room. They will be using multiple
tools to complete this task while learning how to create a room that will serve the needs of a fully
functioning classroom. They will also need to place students at desks and will need to consider a proper
location for each student based on behaviors they may have noticed.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future:

This project would work in a free time activity in class where students could use their imagination to
design the way they would like their bedroom to be laid out. They would have to utilize some math to
make sure that their dimensions were somewhat accurate. They would access their artistic abilities to
be creative in their design. This can also be used as an oral presentation upon completion giving them
the opportunity to practice speaking in front of others.
