C. Discuss the procedures and
results/answers from the conducted programming

In this activity, we will use “lineperf” in Octave GUI.

The Problem 5.1 is already given but we need it to solve
Problem 5.2 in Octave. We must first solve for the ABCD
constant in problem 5.1 then continue on the instruction for
5.2 by choosing no. 6 that leads to “compmenu”. Then
choose 1 to solve for 5.2a and 5.2b of Problem 5.2. The
sending end voltage is the only difference for 5.2a and 5.2b
which is 69kV and 64kV correspondingly.

For Problem 5.3, we need to get its nominal pi with

ABCD constant. Choose “lineperf” first then choose 2 then
input the given, after that the answer 5.3a will appear below.
Click “enter” then choose 1, enter the given for 5.3b and the
answer will appear. The answer for 5.3b will be the given
for 5.3c. 5.3b and 5.3c have the same steps as they are
looking for same results.

In Problem 5.4 we are only looking for the result for

“Shunt Capacitive Compensation”. Using “lineperf” in
Octave, choose 6, it will show “compmenu” then choose 1
to solve for shunt capacitive compensation. Enter the given
and the answer will appear.
