APPENDICES
The boring of 1no of borehole was conducted during July of 2021. Field
testing was conducted and samples were collected during boring. Field standard
penetration tests (SPT) was conducted in the boreholes during drilling. Geotechnical
laboratory tests on collected soil samples were conducted at our laboratory in
Bhubaneswar.
Conclusions and recommendations presented in this report are based on our current
knowledge of the proposed location, subsurface conditions encountered at exploration
locations, results of our laboratory testing. These conclusions and recommendations
should not be extrapolated to other areas without our prior review.
During exploration for each borehole log of borings showing details about the
exploration were prepared.
Disturbed samples were collected from the split spoon sampler after conducting
SPT. The samples were preserved in transparent polythene bags with proper identification
mark.
In case of undisturbed samples, tubes were sealed with wax at both the ends. Then
samplers were wrapped with moist jute bags to prevent loss of moisture.
The table below shows the total no. of boreholes with max explored depth and concerned
water table.

specified in various codes of practices, good engineering norms and conventions. The field
/ laboratory results and records reported here are relevant for the test locations and time
at which the tests have been conducted.
The following conclusions, suggestions and remarks are made basing on the
available test data and sub-soil profiles as per bore logs contained in the reports.
At this site, for geotechnical investigation 1 no borehole was conducted.
The design soil parameters for borehole derived from the field testing as well as lab
testing works are presented in this report.
Based on the bore log data and laboratory test result, As per your advised and
suggestion we are submitting pile calculation having 400mm dia. and depth upto 12.0m
and pile carrying capacity is more than 19 Ton. It may be consider for design purpose or
desired by design engineer, In Open foundation case, analysis has been made considering
Square footing foundation at 3.0 m depths may consider for design purpose or desired by
design engineer.
This is the general recommendation & not based on the knowledge of structural
details for proposed structures. So designer may change the recommendation & he may
decide the depth of the foundation and type of foundation of the structure as per the
structural details.
The test reports & suggestions contained in this report are based on the engineering
characteristics of the sub-soil of the test locations and shall vary in cases of varied
characteristics of soil.

T = 187.48 cm
= 1.87 m
Free Length of pile ( L1 ) = Scour Level- Pile top level (length of pile above scour level)
L1 = 0.000 m
Hence; L1 / T = 0 / 1.875
= 0.00
Therefore from the graph we read the corresponding value of " Lf / T ".
= 3279.38 kg
= 3.28 t
Hence, the horizontal Load carrying capacity of the pile is taken as 3.28 ton for the design
In the worst case of submergance the first part of the expression representing end bearing resistance is neglected, and in
In the instant case therefore the ultimate uplift capacity of pile (Q tu) shall be given by
Qtu = 2/3 rd of frictional resistance + Wp
where W p = Submerged weight of pile = (3.141/4)×D2×L×(2.5-1) gm
Frictional resistance = 170.73 T
W p = 4.418 T
so Qtu = 118.238 T
