1.1. This documented is intended to detect Subsurface discontinuities in welds of pressure


piping, boiler or power piping and made of carbon steels and stainless steels by
Ultrasonic test method, using UT Machine, Calibration Blocks and Couplant.

2. LOADING OF ULTRASONIC TESTING EQUIPMENT:

2.1. During Loading the equipment and accessories Leather hand glove shall be worn.

2.2. Ensure all equipment is stack away from the edge of the lorry bed and secure properly
to prevent falling.

2.3. Ensure provide training on safe handling & manual lift of material to the workforce.

2.4. Leather hand glove shall be worn when perform the entire work.

3. SITE SURVEY TO DO ULTRASONIC TESTING:

3.1. Ensure the proper planning.

3.2. Ensure the isometric drawing with site layout plan is in place.

4. MOBILIZATION OF ULTRASONIC TESTING EQUIPMENT INSIDE CLIENT AND APPLY


GENERAL WORK PERMIT:

4.1. Valid PCM, OPSOC, WAH are required in Client.

4.2. All personnel shall complete Client SIC training prior to enter the site.

4.3. All personnel shall attend the In-house SIC prior working at Client site premise.

4.4. Ensure only authorized and trained person involved in the live plant work are allowed to
enter in the area.

4.5. Work Permit shall be applied by Permit requestor and approved prior to commencement
of work.

4.6. Pre-Job Safety Briefing shall be conducted by site supervisor in accordance to the
MSRA, Daily work plan and Journey Plan.

4.7. Safety glasses, hard hat, long sleeve jacket pants, Leather hand glove and, safety
boots, Safety Goggle, Ear Plug as per Client PPE policy.

4.8. Driver shall follow the Client road safety regulation 20km/h on the road in the plant area.

4.9. Site Supervisor shall ensure that all the relevant certificates and documents are
available for the vehicles prior mobilization (Road Tax, Insurance, Maintenance
Checklist, Driver Particulars,)

4.10. Ensure pickup / van operator shall obtain valid license during the entire work.

4.11. Valid Fire Extinguisher with stands. (9kg, ABC type) for vehicle in place.

4.12. No vehicle is allowed for parking except for short delivery during working hour.

4.13. Workers shall bring along their individual refill water bottle.

5. UNLOADING OF ULTRASONIC TESTING EQUIPMENT TRANSFER TO THE SITE


LOCATION:

5.1. During Loading / unloading the equipment and accessories Leather glove shall be worn.

5.2. Ensure all equipment is stack away from the edge of the pickup bed and secure properly
to prevent falling.

5.3. Leather hand glove shall be worn when perform the entire work.

6. ULTRASONIC TESTING INSPECTION AT WORKING ON THE GROUND LEVEL:

6.1. Apply Couplant (Oil or Water) to the surface of the part.

6.2. Calibrate the UT equipment as per the requirement.

6.3. Hand Scanning to be performed to the surface of the part.

6.4. Inspect for the subsurface discontinuities.

6.5. Adapt a proper bodily posture when perform the entire work.

6.6. Insufficient lighting will be informed to the concern supervisor.

6.7. Ensure the proper lighting before entering the site.

7. ULTRASONIC TESTING INSPECTION AT WORKING ON THE ABOVE GROUND LEVEL


(WORKING AT HEIGHT):

7.1. Ensure workers maintain communication with each other during passing of material

7.2. Always stay away from line of fire when passing on different level of scaffold platform.

7.3. Use tool bag to carry the equipment by using rope.

7.4. Work Permit & WAH Form is issued and approved by relevant parties.

7.5. The workers must complete the WAH course before entering to the work site.

7.6. Hook up SRL at/ above waist level.

7.7. 100% tie-off at strong anchorage point.

7.8. Harness & SRL to be inspected with tag and check prior to use.

7.9. Ensure proper donning of harness and SRL by workers (Buddy system checks prior to
use).

8. LOADING OF ULTRASONIC EQUIPMENT:

to prevent falling.

9. HOUSEKEEPING:

9.1. Housekeeping is a must "Before, During & End" of work day.

9.2. Materials must never be left on the ground but stacked neatly on stillage and hard
barricaded.

9.3. Work area must be swept clean of all times.
