Rubber Bag Type Conservator

Structural View

Rubber Bag, as an essential parts of an ideal oil preservation system

This system is bag shape which inside is filled with the atmosphere. It is hung on the upper part of a cylindrical
conservator tank, and free to float in the oil filled in the conservator. When oil volume changes due to temperature
fluctuation, Rubber Bag is forced to breath in and out through a breather flange. The oil, therefore, completely
sealed from the atmosphere to give security against moisture contamination.

2.1 Parallel bridges for parallel connections

Current division on the connection contacts of 2 tap selector planes only for on-
load tap-changers VACUTAP® VM I 802 (803)/1002 and of 3 tap selector planes
only for on-load tap-changers VACUTAP® VM I 1203/1503, see .Chapter 3.1.37
Parallel bridges on the tap selector terminals are mandatory if the tap winding
has been wound in two or more branches and each of these branch taps is con-
nected to the terminals of the tap selector.
This measure reliably prevents the following:
a) Introduction of circulating currents into the current paths of tap selector and
diverter switch
b) Commutating arc on movable tap selector contact bridges
c) Overvoltage between adjacent tap selector connection contacts connected in
parallel

On-load tap-changer combination for delta connection

The on-load tap-changers can also be used with the single-phase on-load tap-
changer VM I 351 as a two column on-load tap-changer combination VM I 351/
VM II 352 for adjusting the voltage of transformer windings in a delta connection
(analogous to VM I 301/VM II 302, VM I 501/VM II 502 and VM I 651/VM II 652).
This combination is labeled as VM III K ("K", to represent the German word for
combination), see Figure 4.
The tap windings should correspond to those in Figure 4.

2 Special designs

2.2 On-load tap-changer VACUTAP® VM 650 Y...VM I 1503 with

multiple coarse change-over selector (up to maximum of
5 coarse tap connections)

Extremely fine voltage adjustment requires a great number of operating posi-

tions which sometimes can only be achieved with a multiple coarse tapping
arrangement.
For instance, 107 operating positions can be obtained by using a 5-tap coarse
winding and a tapped winding with 18 taps.
The multiple coarse change-over selector is attached to both sides of the tap
selector.
The on-load tap-changers are available (on request) for Um = 72.5 up to max.
300 kV and for 2 to 5 coarse taps (tap selector sizes B and C) or 2 and 3 coarse
tap connections (tap selector size D).

2.3 Two-pole on-load tap-changer VACUTAP®

VM II 302/352/502/652

On-load tap-changer VM II 302/352/502/652 can be supplied as a two-pole on-

load tap-changer for single-phase center point tap-change operations with the
same technical data as on-load tap-changers VM III 350 Y, VM III 500 Y and/or
VM III 650 Y (see dimensional drawings, Chapter 3).

2.4 On-load tap-changer VACUTAP® VM III 350 Y...VM I 1503 for

linear voltage adjustment, up to a maximum of 34 operating
positions

The high number of operating positions without change-over selector is

achieved by doubling the tap selector contact planes compared with the stan-
dard design (requires a larger installation length).
The on-load tap-changers are available for Um = 72.5...300 kV and several tap
selector sizes (rated withstand voltages and dimensional drawings on request).

All figures show ED 100 S with TAPCON® 260 (special equipment).
Individual Control of the Motor Drive ED via IEC61850 The ED. In the end only quality counts

Would you like to connect the motor drive of your on-load tap-chang- If you are looking for ruggedness, uncompromising quality and relia-
er with as little effort as possible? Then you should have a look at our bility in an motor drive unit, the ED ist your choice. It offers you deca-
new solution - the world’s first motor drive to be connected and des of practical experience and the know-how of the market leader
remote-controlled via a simple CAT5 patch cable for Ethernet connec- for on-load tap-changers. Two models are available. All EDs have one
tions. Take advantage of this typical Reinhausen solution: By profes- uniform construction that fits all tap-changers. Naturally the device
sionals for professionals. Until now, you had to install expensive con- also meets the requirements of IEC 60214-1. The uniform mounting
trol lines to transmit all the signals between the motor drive and the and drive geometry significantly reduces construction costs for
control room. Our IEC61850 interface integrated in the motor drive transformer mounting. The ED is also particulary easy to install. A
puts an end to this. All it needs is an Ethernet cable with RJ45 plug swing frame ensures clear arrangement of all components and makes
connector with protection rating IP 65 and a power supply. The rest is connection easy.
child's play. And the best part: With its IEC61850 interface, the ED
motor drive offers the trend-setting protocol for no-problem commu-
nication with the I/O devices of other manufacturers. Significant characteristics of standard IEC61850:

• Standard protocol for communication between the various compo-

nents of the substation and field control levels and the substation’s
process control units.

• Future universal use of TCP/IP from the network control center all
the way to the substation.

• Definition of the level functions (so-called logical nodes) in lieu of

definition of the physical units.

• Provision of standardized object-oriented data models for each

device capable of communication. These data models specify each
particular participant’s automation functions, hence guaranteeing
universal interoperability (i.e. the communication and exchange of
information) between the various devices of different manufacturers
within a single substation system while obviating “private areas”.

An expert’s dream

The ED displays all its strengths during rough everyday operation.

• Clear and easy-to-read indicator field which gives you all informa-
tion on regulating range, position of the motor drive unit and tap-
changer, tap change and number of changes even when the motor
drive unit is closed
• Reflects the logical nodes YLTC, LLN0 and LPHD
• For special requests also the LN ATCC (voltage regulator)
• Modern cage-clamp terminal technology
• Easy-to-access position signaling unit (position signaling module,
position signaling BCD) allows upgrading and later adaption to
future indicator technologies
• Functional separation of position signaling BCD and position
signaling module
• Low-noise transmission gear with maintenance-free belt gear as
transmission element
• Uniform mounting and drive geometry for all ED models
• Panel heater as full-performance anti-condensation heater;
thermostats or hygrostats are no longer needed

Intelligence inside

Are you looking for an on-site solution with integrated electronics

for direct regulation and monitoring of on-load tap-changers and
transformers? We have the answer. The serial interface IEC61850
lets the components communicate directly with your control system.

QSB XPRD, 11/04. Information subject to change without notice.
1. General Features
1.1 Characteristics
The gas-actuated
actuated protective relay is designed to detect faults as well as to minimise the
propagation of any damage, which might occur within oil-filled
filled transformers.
The relay is therefore particularly effective in case of:
- short-circuited
circuited core laminations
- broken-down
down core bolt insulation
- overheating of some part of the windings
- bad contacts
ween phases, turns
- short circuits between
- earth faults
- puncture of bushing insulators inside tank
Furthermore the relay can prevent the development of conditions leading to a fault in
the transformer, such as the falling of the oil level due to leaks, or the penetration of aair
as a result of defects in the oil circulating system.
The adoption of other forms of protection does not therefore exclude the use of the gas- gas
actuated Buchholz relay, as this device is the only means of detecting incipient faults,
which if unnoticed, can an cause heavy failures.
1.2 Operating principle
The operation of the Buchholz relay is based upon the fact that every kind of fault in an
oil-filled
filled transformer causes a decomposition of the insulating material, be it liquid or
solid, due to overheating in the fault zone or to the action of an intense electric field,
and a generation of bubble of gas.
These reach the relay (normally filled with oil) through the pipe conne connecting the
transformer to the conservator where the buchholz relay is mounted

2. Operating features
2.1 Slight faults
When a slight or incipient fault occurs in the transformers, the small bubbles of gas,
which pass upwards towards the conservator, are trapped in the relay housing, thus
causing a decrease of the oil level inside the relay.
relay
As a result, the upper float closes
closes its magnetic switch, thus completing the alarm circuit
and operating an external alarm device.
2.2 Serious faults
2.2.1 Gas as generation
When a serious fault occurs in the transformer, the gas generation is violent and
causes the oil to rush through the connecting pipe to the conservator.
In the relay, this oil surge impinges on the flap fitted on the lower part (located in
front of the hole for the oil passage) and causes the closing of its magnetic
switch, completing the tripping circuit to the circuit-breaker
circuit breaker and disconnecting
the transformer.
The value of the oil speed required to operate the tripping device can be varied
by changing a counterweight fitted on the device itself or changing its size
size.
2.2.2 Oil leak
An oil leak in the transformer causes the fall fall down of the oil level inside the
relay, thus operating first the alarm (upper) float and then the tripping (lower)
float, which will close their own circuits
2.2.3 Air inlet
The ingress of air into the transformer, arising from defects in the oil circulating
system or from other causes, operates the alarm float first and after the trip
contact.
3. Construction feature, Finish and Accessories
3.1 Construction features
The body and the cap of the buchholz relay are made of aluminium alloy casting, oil
tight weatherproof; the compact design, that means low weight, small sizes, efficiency,
is the result of a very long experience in manufacturing relays. Two flanges on the body
permit an easy connection of the the relay to the tubes; two large inspection windows made
in trogamid (on request made in tempered glass), with graduated scale, are fitted on
both sides of the relay housing (on request windows can be provided with sun shield
protection).
A flat surface on the cap of the relay make it possible, using a spirit level, to mount the
relay with the proper inclination
3.2 Accessories
On the cap of the relay are provided a petcock for the release of the gas, a push push-button
for testing the electrical circuits
circuits , a small valve for pneumatic test (standard on Buchholz
size 2” & 3” on request on Buchholz size 1”) and a cable box (which is cast integrall
integrally to
the cap) with 2 cable entry size M25x1.5.
On the bottom of the relay is provided a device for oil draining.
3.3 Finish
In standard execution, all cast parts are protected by one coat of epoxy primer and one
coat of polyurethane paint (total thickness 80 µm),, final colour RAL 7030 7030; fittings made
are in stainless steel (A2). Therefore the device is suitable for outdoor installation in
tropical climate and normal industrial pollution.

4. Contacts
4.1 General
The magnetic switches consist of two thin reed contact blades hermetically sealed
inside a glass capsule in an atmosphere of dry
d inert gas.
The reeds are made of a ferromagnetic material and are cantilevered into the end of the
capsule.
The tips of the reeds overlap and are separated by an air gap. The tips, forming the
contact surfaces, are coated with a contact material.
The switches
itches are operated by a permanent magnet.
The operating principle of the magnetic switches is very simple: when a magnet
approaches the switch, the reeds close the circuit; when the magnets moves away from
the switch, the contact gets open.
4.2 Rated current
The rated current for normally open contacts is 2 A r.m.s. and 1 A for changeover
contacts;
The short time current is 10A r.m.s. for 30 ms
4.3 Breaking and making capacity

8. Installation
8.1 Mounting
The gas actuated relay is mounted on the connecting pipe between the transformer and
the conservator.
The pipe has to allow the easy flow to the relay of the gas arising from faults ininside the
transformer,, starting from the highest point on the transformer cover and must not
protrude inside into the transformer.
The pipe should not contain any right-angle
right elbows. Its diameter should correspond to
the diameter of the hole for the passage of oil of the relay.
The pipe must be arranged to slope upwards towards the conservator at an angle of
about 2 to 4 degrees to the horizontal (max 5 degrees).
The part of the pipe preceding
preceding the relay should be straight for a length equal to at least
five pipe diameters; the part of the pipe leading to the conservator immediately adjacent
to the relay should be straight for a length equal to at least three pipe diameters.
A flat surface on the cap of the relay make it possible, using a spirit level, to mount the
relay with the proper inclination
The petcock at the top of the relay must be at a level below the bottom of the
conservator.
When mounting, the arrow engraved on the body of the relay must point in the direction
from the transformer tank to the conservator.
If the transformer is provided with an explosion vent or similar attachment, this must be
sealed in such a way that any gas liberated by the transformer does not accumulate in
the vent, otherwise the operation of the alarm float will be delayed.
8.2 Setting to work
Once the relay has been mounted, unscrew the knurled cap which covers the push push-
button for checking the circuits and remove the small wood spacer which immobilises
the alarm preventing their movement
larm and tripping floats in their lower position, thereby preventin
during transport.
Open up the gas release cock, located on the relay cover, to allow the relay to fill up
with oil.
The filling up and d the position of the floats can be seenn through the inspection windows.
When the relay is filled with oil, close the gas release cock.
The electrical circuits must be connected as shown in the diagram accompanying the
relay.
8.3 Test of contacts
The relay is provided with a push-button,
push self resetting, for checking the continuity of
the electrical circuits.
The procedure for testing is very simple: unscrew the knurled cap pos.3 (see drawing)
which protect the push-button
push button and press it slowly in order to activate first the alarm
contact and afterr the trip contact. When the push-button
push button end his stroke, release it
slowly, in order to turn off the trip contact and after the alarm contact.
It is possible to see the movement of the float through the inspection windows.
It is possible also to test the contacts
contacts using a bottle of compressed air.
To execute pneumatic test of contacts operate as follows:
8.3.1 Test of alarm contact
Inflate air through pneumatic test device (pos. 8) located on the cover till the
contact operated.
It is possible to see the movement
movement of the float and read the value of gas that
operate the contact through the inspection windows.
At the end of the test, drain out the air from the relay.
8.3.2 Test of trip contact (only for sizes EE2 & EE3)
Inflate air from the petcock (pos. 11) that is located on the bottom of the relay
very quickly by opening very fast the petcock. At the end of the test drain out the
air from upper petcock.
8.4 Maintenance
The buchholz relay does do not need periodic maintenance; however it is advisable to
check regularly
larly the electric contact and the freely movement of float.
float

9. Check after actuation of relay

9.1 Alarm signal
When the alarm signal is given, the colour of the gas should be observed through the
inspection-windows.
The gas may be released or samples can be taken for analysis. (If the relay is supplied
with our "Buchholzolz gas sampling apparatus RG3.3,
RG3 , this operation can be carried out at
eye-level).
It should be noted that:
- whitish gas : it is caused by electric arcing in contact with paper, cotton
and silk
s
- yellowish gas : it is caused by wood and cardboard
- greyish gas : it is caused by from a breakdown of the magnetic circuit
- black gas : it is caused by from free arcing in the oil
Note that there may be air in the transformer during commissioning or after an
operation of oil refilling
In similar cases the alarm is only temporary and should end in a short period of time.
9.2 Trip signal
If the relay disconnects the transformer, similar checks on the gas should be made to
determine the colour and the quantity
q of gas collected.
It is always good practice to make a gas analysis.
In any case, the transformer should not be immediately re-energized energized, as this would
increase the seriousness of the fault.
Note that tripping contact can be actuated also by oil leak;
leak; in that case refill oil into
conservator after discovered the cause of the oil fall before re-energizing the
transformer.

10. Test of gas on site

It can be executed only if a gas analyser is available

12. Accessories

12.1 Gas sampling device RG3.3 RG3.

12.1.1 General features
The body is made
m ade of aluminium alloy casting; in order to check gas and oil two
large inspection windows made in trogamid (on request made in tempered glass
and with sunshield
sunshield), are fitted on either side of the casting.
Two petcock complete with hermeto joints are present for connection to relay
and one pneumatic valve for test and another petcock draining oil complete the
apparatus
12.1.2 Installation
hholz gas sampling device "RG3.3"
The Buchholz " " must be fitted on the transformer
tank, from the ground level, within handy height.
A copper tube (size 8 mm OD/ 6 mm ID) must must be used to connect the “RG3.3“RG3.3”
device, from the cock "12", to the top of the Buchholz relay, cock "R"; and from
the cock "15", ", to the bottom of the Buchholz relay, cock "T "T"; When the RG3
apparatus has been mounted cocks “R” and “T” have to remain open position
For filling the device with oil,
oi open the cocks “15”; “12” and "2" "2"; wait until oil has
entirely filled the «RG3
«RG3.3» device, then close cock "2" and “15” “15”; oil level inside
«RG3.3» » may be controlled through the inspection windows located on the two
sides. In the normal operating conditions, the gas sampling device, the Buchholz
relay and the connecting tube between them should should be oil filled.
12.1.3 Operating instruction
12.1.3.1 Gas sampling from the Buchholz relay
Open oil drain cock "11"" and watch through the «RG3.3» » windows until gas is
seen to have flown into the «RG3.3» device; then close "11".
Now, the gas, formerly accumulated inside the Buchholz relay due to some
electrical failure inside the transformer, may be sampled for examination or
released, by opening the cock "2".
The gas should be totally released (i.e. until the «RG3.3» » is completely filled
again with oil) to reset the
the Buchholz relay in normal operating conditions; in the
case it is necessary to maintain
ma the gas inside the «RG3», », the shut
shut-off cock "12"
and "2" must be closed; cock "2" may be reopened for sampling the gas for
examination, or for gas release.
12.1.3.2 Checking of alarm circuits
Cock "12" in open position, cock "15" in close position
Inject air inside «RG3.3»
«RG3.3» through the bottom valve "8" (after removing the
knurled protecting cap), using a bottle of compressed air or a normal bicycle tyre
pump, until the alarm ssignal
ignal (or signals) have been set in operation.
To reset the Buchholz relay in normal operating conditions, follow above
instructions for gas sampling and release.
12.1.3.3 Checking trip circuits
Cock "15"" in open position
position, cock "12" in close position. Inject air inside «RG3.3»
through the bottom valve "8" (after removing the knurled protecting cap), using a
bottle of compressed air or a normal bicycle tyre pump, until the trip signal (or
signals) have been set in operation.
To reset the Buchholz relay in normal operating operating conditions, follow above
instructions for gas sampling and release.
12.2 Throttle valves for buchholz relays
This
his kind of valves, metal to metal sealing, are used on power transformers with the
scope to allow the disconnection of the Buchholz relay fromf rom the conservator or from
the cover; they are preferred to the conventional gate valves for their compact
overall dimensions in the direction of the oil flow.
The throttle design and an accurate machining of all the components minimise the
oil leakage from the throttle in close position, during the operations of disconnection
of the relay with the transformer oil filled, it is necessary to put small containers on
the ground to collect the small quantity of oil which flow out from the throttle; once
the disconnection is terminated, blind flanges must be put on the throttle valves.
All these valves have bodies made in steel ASTM A105 zincplated, painted and
carefully tooled; the design and the execution of the throttle ensures a good oil
proof; once the throttle
hrottle is closed, the oil losses are very small (< 5 cc/60” every
25mm of the nominal diameter of the throttle); the drive shaft can be locked by
means of a small padlock in both the close/open positions, which are also indicated
by a label; the sealing g gaskets
askets on the drive shaft can be easily changed, if
necessary, as shown on the sketch in the drawings.
All those valves are supplied with flange NBR sealing gaskets.

12.3 Gas analyser for buchholz relays

If a gas analyser kit is available it is possible to have an idea of the cause that
generated the gas by checking the precipitate inside the test tube of the gas
analyser.
If gas is due only to oil decomposition, in the test tube 1 a white precipitate is
formed which, exposed to the light, slowly turns brown.
brown
Should, however, in the test tube "2" a black precipitate be formed, this means that
the gases contain decomposition products of solid insulation, such as cotton, paper,
wood and the like.
In such a case, a coil deficiency has taken place.
In the case the e Buchholz relay operation is caused by air (first installation into work,
total oil refilling, defect in the cooling system) there isn't any formation of precipitate
inside the tubes.
After the sample of the gases has been drawn, the cock should be closed again,
and the analyser housed in its container.

The Oil Level Gauge or Indicator is an apparatus to indicate the oil level of oil immersed transformer tank and/or transformer
conservator. The gauge or indicator is normally assembled to transformer at a suitable position to observe the oil level from
the grounding level, conveniently.
There are two kinds of oil level indicators. One is an oil level gauge directly welded to transformer tank to indicate the oil
level of the tank. The other is an oil level indicator with alarm contact which indicate the oil level by a needle connected to a
buoy.
Especially, in case magnetic type oil level indicator is suitable for transformer or a component concerned and is characteristic
of weatherproof, waterproof, and shockproof. TAIJIN has various oil level gauges or indicators in size as well as in shape
chosen by customers according to the kind and characteristic of transformer and used for all the transformers from pole type to
ultra high voltage class.
TAIJIN’s oil level gauges or indicators have a good reputation in the world market because the oil level gauges or indicators
have a solid construction and a graceful shape as well.

The dehydrating breather is connected to conservator or Gas Oil Sealing Tank as one of oil conservation
systems through long pipe .
The dehydrating breather is an apparatus to reduce effectively the thermal ageing of insulation oil by
means of filtering off the particles of atmosphere in oil cup and absorbing the moisture of atmosphere in
silica gel container when a transformer is under breathing in accordance with the variation of oil level
caused by the change of ambient temperature and/or transformer load.
The dehydrating breather is located at a suitable height to check the breather at the standing point of
operator and has a very simple construction for disconnecting it from the pipe line of transformer
conservator during the transportation period of transformer and reconnecting it to the pipe line at
transformer erection site after delivery.
TAIJIN has various dehydrating breathers in size as well as in shape for all the transformers from pole
transformers to ultra high voltage class power transformers because the dehydrating breather should be
chosen in accordance with the kind and capacity of transformer.
The breathers have a good reputation in the world market because the breathers have a solid construction
and a graceful shape as well.
TAIJIN uses No Cobalt (Neo-Blue) of pro-environment as dehydrator to be filled in the container of all
breathers.

Since the European Union had completely revised their regulations of EU Directive 98/98/EC on July 01,
2000 and also the regulations have been applied to all the products, Cobalt chloride prescribed as a
potential carcinogenic material have been prohibited from using and all products manufactured by means
of using it have been prohibited from selling, actually.
On the other hand, the Neo-Blue is made from another material of pro-environment definitely different
from toxic material prescribed by their regulations of EC Legislation, TAIJIN’s dehydrating breather can
be used by transformer owners without any anxiety.

The dehydrating breather is connected to transformer tank or
conservator through pipe line and located at a suitable height to check
the breather at the standing point of operator. Since the Silica Gel G01 2000 141 153 374
volumes of 1000cc, 2000cc, 3000cc, and 5000cc are available, it is
possible for customer to select the breather according to transformer G02 3000 141 153 466
capacity.
The breathers have enough strength to withstand mechanical shock G03 5000 168 180 519
during transportation and permanent life because the Silica Gel
container is made of mild steel. It is very easy to check the discoloration of silica gel and replace it with new one.
It is possible for customer to substitute the breather for existing one easily because the breather has a various flange.

THROTTLE VALVES FOR RELAYS AND RADIATORS
Series 2009

1General Features
1.1Characteristics
The butterfly valves, metal to metal sealing withy thin blade(or full tightening type, with o-ring blade), are
used on power transformer with the scope to allow disconnection of a component of the circuit (ie
buchholz relay or radiator) without having to lower the oil below the level of the component itself.
This kind of valve are preferred to the conventional gate valves for their compact overall dimension in the
direction of the oil flow.
1.2Field of Use
The butterfly valves (standard execution) may be used with the following characteristic values:
• Fluid: mineral oil
• operating pressure max 10 bar
• working temperature from 20°C to + 110°C

2Construction Features, Finish and Accessories

2.1Construction Features
Butterfly valves are constructed as follows (please refer to drawings):
• Body made in forged mild steel
• Spindle made in steel
• Drive and gland made in brass
• Open/close position indicated by a n aluminium plate.
• S/steel screws
• Throttle made in carbon steel (thin blade) or made in brass (o-ring blade)
• O/Rings made in oil resistant rubber
2.2Finish
Body of wafer type is zinc plated first and after is protected by one coat of epoxy primer and one coat of
polyurethane paint (total thickness 80 µm), final colour RAL 7030; in all types screws and pins are in
stainless steel; brass parts and aluminium parts are self colour.
In any case the device is suitable for outdoor installation in tropical climate and with normal industrial
pollution.
Body of welding neck type is self colour without any coating or painting
2.3Accessories
The valve is supplied with one (or two) O/Ring flange gasket
2.4Special executions

3Operating features
3.1Tightness of spindle
The tightness to oil leakage from the spindle on the butterfly valve, is guaranteed by a set of o/rings on
the spindle and on the gland obtaining an excellent tightness and at the same time allowing an easy
replacement of the gasket
No leakage is tolerated from the spindle in any case.
3.2Tightness of butterfly
3.2.1Metal to metal sealing (thin blade throttle)
The oil tightness of the butterfly is obtained by contact metal to metal, thus assuring a constant
performance even after a long use .
Leakage at the butterfly is checked during assembly, testing with oil at 20° C, 1 bar and viscosity of
30,5 cSt.
Following values of max admitted leakage:

Nominal diameter of valve in mm ≤ 100 100 < > 175 ≥ 175

Admitted leakage in dm /h measured in 1 hour ≤ 0,5
3
≤ 1,0 ≤ 2,0

3.2.2Full tightening sealing (TW80 with o-ring blade)

The oil tightness of the butterfly is obtained by contact of an o/ring (mounted on the throttle) and the
metal body, thus assuring full sealing between throttle and body.
No leakage is present between throttle and body in closed position.
3.3Operating Torque
The operating torque measured by dynamometric spanner are the following :

Nominal diameter of valve in mm ≤ 100 100 < > 150 ≥ 150

Operating torque in Nm. ≤ 10 ≤ 30 ≤ 30
Closing torque in Nm. ≤ 70 ≤ 100 ≤ 150
Opening torque in Nm. ≤ 40 ≤ 50 ≤ 50

Operating torque: Torque necessary to turn the shaft from the open to the closed position;
Closing torque: Torque necessary to obtain the complete closure of the valve;
Opening torque: Torque necessary to open the valve, after complete closure.

Construction.
Cooling fan consists of two pieces of fan guards, a fan motor, four blades.

1. Fan guard.
The fan guard made of a thick wire takes the shape of circle and consists of motor support and blade protection net. Since the
guard perfectly protects the blade from damage and minimize flow resistance, cooling fan can be operated on lower noise and
high efficiency.
2. Motor.
Since the motor is characteristic of waterproof, total abolition as a perfect sealing construction as well as F class insulation
class, the motor can be operated on high efficiency even though the motors are in outdoor service during long period.
3. Blade.
The blade is designed to provide sufficient airflow, efficiently. Since the blade is made of aluminum plate or made from
aluminum die casting, it is light, anticorrosive and also can withstand high temperature. Therefore, the blade can be operated
under various ambient conditions including tropical climates. Especially, the blade exactly balanced by machine has
characteristic to minimize it’s noise level.
4. The surface treatment of fan guard.
The guard is hot-dipped galvanized, and is coated by wash primer and final paint (5Y 7/1).
