STRUCTURE / ACTIVITY
Pre-Writing Activities

Issumboshi’s text is narrative in nature . This text structure orientation , intricacy and
resolution is used to tell or write narratives .

- With guidance questions , the teacher guides the students .

Fill complete the table to learn how text is constructed .


- When did the story take place ?
- Who are the protagonists
- When and where did the story take place ?
- What is the issue ?
- What is the conclusion ?

During-Writing Activities

The instructor tells a narrative about Issumboshi and certain words are written in the story

- Students are asked to fil in the gaps with acceptable words .


- The teacher instructs students to keep a diary of their experience as Issumboshi . Assume you,
Issumboshi , make two journal entries , one before and one after you leave your house .

Post Writing Activities

The teacher tells a narrative about Kancil , but the material is not correctly written .

The teacher instructs the pupils to carefully read the passage and fix the 15
incorrect words
Take your time reading the paragraphs . There are 15 mistakes in the paragraphs .

They must be corrected

The teacher instructs the pupils to discuss with their classmates the many problems
that may arise as a result of the events described in the preceding section .

Homework
- Debate among your partner the various endings to the narrative .
- Fill in the blanks with the outcome of your debate to create your own Kanchil
narrative .

Task 1
Have you ever written a story ?

Consider yourself Issombosh . Make two diary entries , one before and one after you leave the
house . Keep in mind that you must include information not just about your activities , but also about
your thoughts and feelings .

Task 2
This is the first installment in a narrative about Kanchil . The text is not correctly constructed ;
modify the 15 words in the so the tale makes any sense .

Kanchil
Kanchil , the small and clever mousedar had many enemies in the forest , fortunately , he was
quick-wited , so that every time his live was threatened , he managed to escape One of his greatest
enemies was crocodile , who lived in the river that bordered the forest . Many times Crocodile had
tryed to capture Kanchil . Crocodile wasbig, but he was not very clever . Kanchil was able to trick him
every time . One day it was very hot . There was not wind at all to refresh the thirsty plants and tres
of the forest . It was in the middle of the dry season . For many weeks no rain had fallen , so the little
creeks where the small animals use to drink had dried up . Kanchil was walking alone in the forest . He
was very thirsty . He had walked a long way looking for a brook where he could quench his thirt .
