What is communication?
Communication is the sharing of
information between two or more
individuals or groups to reach a common
understanding

Allen Louis (1964): "Communication is the sum of all the things one peson does when
he wants to create understanding in the mind of the other. It is a bridge of meaning.
It involves a systematic and continuous process of telling, listening &
understanding". 2 elements are important:
Transfer of information & understanding of the intended meaning

Communication is a two-way continuous process.
It involves three elements viz. sender, message, and receiver. The different elements in the process of communication are-

Communication is the process of passing information from one person


to another. Communication brings people together, closer to each
other. It is an important management function closely associated with
all other managerial functions.

The communication process refers to a series of actions or steps taken


in order to successfully communicate. It involves several components
such as the sender of the communication, the actual message being
sent, the encoding of the message, the receiver and the decoding of the
message.

Communication is a vital part of society. It plays a lot of roles, and it is


essential for survival. People use it to encourage, share ideas, connect,
inform, and more.

Good and effective communication has a great emphasis on how


successful and big businesses reach where they are right now.
