EVERY RELIGION HAS ITS OWN USUAL PRAYERS

The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer that Jesus taught to his disciples. It is a
prayer of adoration, thanksgiving, forgiveness, and petition. This
prayer is part of the Catholics’ daily prayer.

The Al-fatiha is a prayer of Muslims. It is a prayer for guidance and to

acknowledge Allah’s Lordship and mercy.
Gayatri Mantra, the Hindus believe that their life will be full of
happiness. It is called a mantra because the words in their prayer are
repeated by reciting it or by chanting it.
The mealtime prayer is a prayer of gratitude. The
Buddhists believe that it is important to give thanks to God
for the food they eat every day. They chant it before meals.

WHO IS GOD TO US? WHY DO WE PRAY TO GOD?

The Philippines is the third largest Catholic country in the
world after Brazil and Mexico. Although everyone believes
in one God, everyone is also free to choose his or her own
religion. It is called freedom of religion. It is unity, even if
there are different religions, we make an effort of
understanding one another for peace and unity.

God is our creator, protector and provider. He is a Supreme Being who guides us and cares for us. He reprimands us
when we have committed sins. We pray to God that He may continue to give us blessings and save us from evil. Prayer
is our expression of love for Him and we acknowledge that He is the Supreme Being.
