Why aren’t we more compassionate?

1. What hinders us from being compassionate to others? Why do we choose not

to help even we are given so many opportunities to do it?
-There a lot of reasons why. We do we choose not to help even we are given so
many opportunities to do it, one is we have lack of knowledge sometimes we want to help
some people that needed helps but we hesitate because we don’t know much about her/his
problem we have lack of knowledge about what she/he needs. Some is shy to express their
feelings towards someone they wanted to care. Others are afraid to be judge by other people
who witnesses and to the person they wanted to show their expression. And lastly others might
think or they afraid to be rejected or disappointed.

-Some maybe don’t want to enter other people’s life. They afraid to be rejected
and criticize by many. Some are afraid because maybe affect them or get trouble to their life.
Lastly, it’s either you hate the person, or you are afraid to help.

2.According to social neuroscience, what happens to our brain when we attend

to the needs of others?
-According to Goleman, if we attend our brain to the need of the others two
people’s brains activates while they interact. If we attend to the other person, we automatically
emphatized, we automatically feel with them. It depends on your intention, if your intention is
to help them out because you want something in return then your brain won’t get any reward
at all, and in fact It will likely cause you stress. However, if you attend to the needs of others
from the generosity of your heart, and you truly want to help because you care about them,
then your brain will reward you. In fact, your very consciousness will reward you both short
term and long term

3.What is the first step that we should take in order to be more compassionate
to others?
-I think the first step that we should take in order to be more compassionate
to others is let set aside our doubt to help other people, we need to put our self in their
situations for us no hesitation to help them, let’s develop our empathy for our fellow human
beings, we need to set aside our doubt let’s help with our full capacity that we have let’s help
that our heart is open and they will receive that their heart is open too.
