when we apply heat. With this,
we will use sugar and butter.
Gab: When the sugar is heated, they melt and
break down into glucose and fructose, two
other forms of sugar. And when butter is
heated, the molecules begin to move and are
able to slide past each other and become a
liquid. The two materials change its color and
shape.

Cassi: Okay, let's start.What you
notice when we apply heat?
Cassi: When a solid is heated, the molecules that
make up the solid begin to vibrate. This causes
them to take up more space, and the solid
matter expands. If the heat continues to build, it
may provide enough energy for the particles to
break free from their strong attraction to one
another, causing the solid to melt. And it result
of physical and chemical changes.
