Terraforming
What will the future be like? Will it be better than today? Will it be worsing?
Many science fiction writers write about the future. They base their ideas on science fact.
Their ideas often prediction the future. For example, Olaf Stapledon wrote a story about the
planet Venus. At the end of the story, Venus was made to look more like Earth-a process
called terraforming
What is terraforming? Terraforming means making a planet more like Earth. In
that way, plants, animals, and humans can live on that planet. Some scientific think new
technologies will make this dream come true. They predict that many human beings will
need to leave Earth because we will not have enough resources for everybody
Today, there is a lot of talk about colonization other planets. The United States
will send someone to Mars. Will scientists be able to terraforming Mars in the future?
