I.In your textbook Mechanics and the Environment, read in detail the content for
Stage 3 on pp. 126 to 149 and define the following concepts:
a) Linear displacement and angular displacement
The angular displacement is the angle made by a body while moving in a circular path.
Linear displacement is the movement in one direction along a single axis.

b) Units used to measure angular displacement

Radians.

c) Linear velocity and angular velocity

Linear velocity is speed in a straight line, while angular velocity is the change in angle
over time.

d) Units to measure angular velocity

Radians per second.

e) Frequency and period of circular motion

The period is defined as the amount of time it takes to go around once, the time to
cover an angle of radians. Frequency is the rate of rotation, or the number of
rotations in some unit of time.

f) Centripetal acceleration and centripetal force

Any net force causing uniform circular motion is called centripetal force. The
centripetal force is the property of the motion of a body traversing a circular path.
