FILM IN SEARCH OF HAPPINESS.

This film describes the story of Chris Gardner, a responsible family man, father of a little boy with

whom he lives in San Francisco, devoting part of his time to the sale of a new machine with medical

applications for bone density exploration. Chris had put much of his effort and personal capital into

the manufacture and marketing of this device in the hope of receiving a significant financial gain, but

the medical community did not value its usefulness, considering the device to be not only

impractical, but also unnecessary. In this way his worries and economic difficulties increase every

day, causing a series of family crises with his wife Linda, further complicating the situation that

Chris Gardner had to face daily. However, his exemplary motivation is unwavering. Among his main

goals besides the successful sale of his device, Chris had focused on becoming a top broker,

leveraging his skills in numbers and trading skills. Reason why he chooses to enroll in a rigorous

training program, but without receiving any payment, with the sole intention of being chosen as part

of the work team. Chris tries to meet with Jay Twistle, who is the head in charge of the selection of

the new personnel; however, he is having a hard time delivering his resume personally and

presenting his skills to this high-ranking executive. After Chris's family and financial crisis, his wife

Linda decides to abandon him and his son to try to get ahead on her own and get away from the

problems that were caused by Chris's alleged incompetence. The worst days of his life had come, to

the point of being on the street, sleeping in a bathroom and being forced to seek refuge in a state
boarding house together with his son. His son's rent and school debts were at a dead end, at which

point he receives a call from the executive Twistle giving him an appointment for his long-awaited

interview and with it the possibility of being chosen among the 20 job applicants. Unfortunately,

Chris is arrested the day before the date of the interview for tax evasion, which is why he must invest

his last dollars in the payment of the bond that allows him to go out to meet such an important

appointment. Despite the difficulties, Chris manages to arrive on time and make an excellent

impression with his evaluators, who decide to give him the news that he has been accepted and can

immediately start his job as a stockbroker. Chris Gardner subsequently becomes a prominent

executive, achieving important deals that promote him as a successful financial investor, allowing

him to soon create a great economic fortune and be recognized as one of the most outstanding

professionals in the sector in the United States.
