EFFECT OF LONG SCREEN-TIME AMONG STUDENTS.

In this era of globalization, nearly half of all students in Malaysia started online studies learning
due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic. As a result, they have to
spend an average of 8 hours a day on digital screens to study in cyberspace. So, there are several
effect when doing too much on screen time.

If examined in more depth, student nowadays overexposed to the long screen time
because of the online studies learning in the pandemic COVID-19, so that it will be affected to
their brain become weak in the future. In connection with that, weak brain will make brain
disease due to too long looking at the screen on a laptop, tab, or mobile phone. For the example
migrain, high blood pressure, stress, memory loss and others. However, as a student we should
always take care of brain health so that our brain is always healthy and smart.

The high amount of screen time among students directly impact on sleep deprivation.
As we all know, Sleep help the brain store new information. Those who slept after screen time
get better results in the test. However, the problem of sleep deprivation among students is often
considered trivial and habit. They prefer to study late night because they think atmosphere
calmer and there are no disturbances. This problem has impact on individuals, especially
students. The duration of sleep for each individual is different, for students it is 8 to 10 hours a
day. But if their sleep time is less than usual, it will affect the body. lack of sleep will get
various diseases such as heart and mental diseases stunted, causing impaired ability, hormonal
disorders, weight gain or loss.

Long screen time give double impact to the students. The way to cut this problem is
take an extra break brain such as stretching and moving around. And also doing outdoor
activities such as puzzles, playing board games and playing outside
