INTRODUCTION

A social network is an online community of people who use a website or app to build relationships and communicate with
each other by sharing comments, images, videos, resources, etc. Common examples include Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, and Snapchat. Using social networks can be a lot of fun and help us feel connected and involved with other
people. There are both positive benefits such as staying in touch with friends and family, looking for a job, sharing news,
but there are also negative impacts such as rumors, bullying, and drama. This Thing will help you evaluate these issues.

Social network: A social network is an online community of people who use a website or app to communicate with each
other by sharing comments, images, videos, resources, etc. Common examples include Facebook, Instagram, and
Snapchat.

Texting is a popular way for people to communicate with each other. Sometimes it can get out of hand. You are going to
watch two short videos and then have an assignment on responsible texting.

Reputation is how you are viewed by people and by your community and the way these people think of you.

Social media contract: Social media contract is a list of guidelines for someone who posts content on a social network
that a person uses when interacting with others in a social network.

When is the Right Age to Start Social Media?

Students consider that in the United States, children are required to be 13 to sign up for most social media
platforms, and think about what age kids should be allowed to start using social media, in light of privacy and
social development issues.

Privacy Settings:
Privacy settings are controls available on many social networking and other websites that allow users to limit who can
access your profile and what information visitors can see.

Security Settings:
Security settings are important to protect your computer from attacks. You will want to lock them down and keep others
from seeing your private data.

Default Settings:
The default settings are automatically given to a software application, computer program or device. You will want to go
into both the privacy and security settings and manage them to protect your computer and data.
