Course Description Human resource has been regarded as the primary resource necessary in achieving organizational effectiveness. In the case of educational
organizations, school leaders and managers must necessarily work toward developing professional learning communities which are vital in developing
the academic potentials of students. They are expected to recruit, orient, motivate, develop, evaluate, and sometimes terminate the human resources
within the institutions. This course provides students a comprehensive orientation on the nature and characteristics as well as theories and principles
governing human resource management, focusing on school and education-related organizational contexts. It explores different models and practices
in developing human resources, more specifically professional development approaches, techniques and strategies for teacher development. Students
will be given opportunities to examine these approaches along with models and theories in designing their own human resource management plan or
perhaps, a teacher professional development program.

COURSE CONTENT

Program 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the philosophical, historical, theoretical and legal foundation of Human Resource Management and Teacher Development;
Specialization 2. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the different models and practices in developing human resources, particularly on professional development

2. Your professor understands that you have other obligations; however, our time for learning is limited. If you must miss class for any reason, you will be required to submit one page of
reflection on the previous class’s topic, required readings, or research on the topic missed for each hour of class missed.

3. It is recommended that students retain copies of all course outputs to document their progress. Outputs from this class can become part of your individual professional portfolio.
B. MIDTERM/FINAL EXAMINATIONS/QUIZZES
A mid-term/final exam will be given to assess knowledge and understanding of student outcomes. The exam will take place on designated schedules.
C. ASSESSMENTS
 Assignments are due at assigned dates and times.
a) Due dates are on the syllabus. Assignments are due at the beginning of class; unless otherwise specified, assignments must be submitted in typed hard copy. Please use APA
for citing sources.
b) Late assignments will be dropped one point grade per day.
c) Assignments later than 3 days will not be accepted and will result in a failing grade for the assignment unless special arrangements have been made with the professor.
d) Unless otherwise specified, all assignment should be submitted as scheduled.

Examination Policy – Chapter Tests/Final exams will occur during designated class sessions specified in the syllabus; Due dates for Exams and Research Report are included in Syllabus.

Course Drop - A student may drop a course, and will be given a grade description of Authorized Withdrawal (AW), by filling up the Drop Course Form which is to be requested from the
registrar’s office.
Incomplete Grade – An Incomplete grade (INC) is given when a requirement of the course has not been submitted. Removal of INC. grade must be done by submitting the said
requirement. Get a form for removal of INC Grade at the registrar’s office. Follow the steps required.

Administrative Withdrawal - Administrative withdrawal of a student from the class will be implemented as a result of excessive absences.
