PAST SIMPLE

(Thì quá khứ đơn)

* Cách dùng:
- Diễn tả hành động ĐÃ xảy ra trong QUÁ KHỨ.

* Dấu hiệu: Thời gian trong quá khứ:

- yesterday
- last week/ month/ year/ Monday…
- 3 days/ 1 week/ 5 months…ago
- in 2019, in the past…

* Công thức:

Loại câu Động từ “tobe” Động từ “thường”

S + was/ were + N/A. S + Ved/ 2.

* S số ít + was
Khẳng định S số nhiều + were

S + wasn’t/ weren’t + N/A. S + didn’t + V(nguyên mẫu).

Phủ định
Was/ Were + S + N/A? Did + S + V(nguyên mẫu)?
 Yes, S + was/ were.  Yes, S + did.
Nghi vấn  No, S + wasn’t/ weren’t.  No, S + didn’t.

* Regular (động từ có quy tắc) and Irregular (động từ bất quy tắc)
- Regular verbs:
+ cook  cooked + water  watered
+ call  called + help  helped
+ dance  danced + play  played
+ work  worked + study  studied
+ live  lived + listen  listened
- Irregular verbs:
+ go  went + be  was/ were
