ACTIVITY 2- MIDTERM
COVID-19 PANDEMIC ESSENTIALS
NSTP2

Project Proposal
Lanyard: Anti-lost mask
I. Objectives
a. To produce a COVID-19 essential that can help to protect people in
obtaining the COVID-19 Virus.
b. To make a COVID-19 essential out of recyclable materials.
c. To share the COVID-19 essential to the targeted beneficiaries.
II. Rationale
a. Background
- Face masks have become the latest must-have accessory. While there
are critics of wearing face coverings, the vast majority of people have
accepted this as a simple way to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
By placing your face mask on a lanyard, you can keep your hands free
for other things. Your mask will always be close by so you can slip it on
at a moment’s notice.
b. Problem
- A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in
your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. It spreads the same way other
coronaviruses do, mainly through person-to-person contact. Infections
range from mild to deadly.
c. Purpose/Importance of the Project in solving the given problem
- Mask lanyards are similar to neck straps for glasses. They attach to
the straps and let you drop the mask to hang around your neck. These

mask lanyards are a simple solution for keeping your mask close at
hand and help prevent loss. It helps to prevent the spread of the virus.

III. Methodology
a. Planning with documentation-groupmates (Screen shots of the planning).

Before - The members of the group created a group chat for proper
communication. In the scheduled time, brainstorming was done and assigning
of tasks for each of the members. Updates were disseminated and questions
were entertained.

During - Exchanging of ideas were conducted for additional inputs and

suggestions. Each of the members actively participated in the discussion. Any
suggestion is being accepted and analyzed. Each of the member shows
respect with each other’s ideas and opinions.

After - The members of the group came up with a pandemic essential

which is a lanyard.

b. Result of Planning – Discuss how you’re planning went, the decisions you
made and what Covid-19 Essential you’re going to create?

The students aim to provide equipment that can make people’s lives easier.
The group began to discuss the project to be completed and the materials to be
used; each member had an idea, such as gloves or masks, but our group soon
realized that the process of creating them would be challenging for us, especially
in looking for the materials needed. However, our group later determined that the
project would be the mask holder, which, aside from being simple to make, it will
be contemporary and useful. The group plan is to create a face mask strap an
Anti-Lost Mask and the target beneficiaries are the children, elderly, and persons
with impairments who have difficulty wearing masks. The scheme has both

advantages and disadvantages; the materials that will be used are affordable due
to the recyclable concept. However, the project's limitation is that it is only given
to a selected group of people.

c. Step-by-step process of creating the COVID essential through recyclable

materials (include a sketch).

Procedure:

1. Used Lanyard and 2 clips

IV. Target Beneficiaries (to whom are you going to give the materials)

Project “Lanyard: anti-lost mask” will be concentrating on all netizens ages

4 and above. It will allow them to keep their face mask clean and close at
hand, reducing the chance of getting it dirty or losing it. It will also ensure that
their mask is properly secured around their neck. We hope that our project
will also help reduce the transmission of the virus by preventing people from
putting their face masks on tables or other random places where the virus can
live. The Project “Lanyard: anti-lost mask” is essential to ages 4 and above
because it can be an accessory to their face mask since a face mask is
always required when going out.
