1. A review of related literature (RRL) is important for obtaining an overview of the current knowledge
on the topic. It provides the investigator with a framework on which to build an appropriate
hypothesis.
2. The main difference between in text citation and reference is that an in-text citation is a brief
reference within the body of a paper, whereas reference is a list of citations that provides the reader
with the complete original source information appearing at the end of a paper.
3. An APA in-text citation includes the author's last name and the publication year. If you're quoting or
paraphrasing a specific passage, you also add a page number. An MLA in-text citation includes the
author's last name and a page number.

4.1 Larvicidal Effect of Terminalia Catappa (Tropical Almond Tree) Fruit and Leaf Extract on the
Larvae of Anopheles Mosquito
With all of the efforts to control mosquito-based diseases with the use of different measures, and with the ongoing
challenges revolving on chemical-based insecticides and larvicides, the study will be conducted to examine the
larvicidal effect of Terminalia Catappa fruit and leaf extracts, specifically on the larvae of Anopheles Mosquito.
Additionally, the results of the study could further develop natural sources as an alternative to chemicals in insecticide
and larvicides as a vector control measure.

4.2 Attitudes and Perceptions of Clients to the Public Offices in the Mandaue City During the
COVID-19 Pandemic
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) a "pandemic" in early
March 2020. Globally, extreme efforts have been done to combat the outbreak's aggressive spread. Mandaue City's
government offices have remained open to serve the public despite the eminent risks of higher rates of confirmed
cases of COVID 19 virus. The goal of this phenomenological study is to look at the attitudes and perceptions of clients
in Mandaue City's public offices during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study aims to answer the following questions in
specific: (1) What are their experiences while visiting any public offices in Mandaue City during the pandemic? (2)
What are the common actions or practices that the clients do while visiting the public offices in Mandaue City during
the pandemic? (3) What are the uncomfortable situations or problems that they faced during their visit to the public
office? (4) What are their coping mechanisms while facing those situations during their visits? (5) What can be
suggested to the implementation of the safety protocols in public offices in Mandaue City?

4.3 Cacao seed extract (Theobroma Cacao L.) as a Regulator of Angiogenesis in Duck Embryos
(Anas Platyrhnychos)
The study entitled “Cacao seed extract (Theobroma Cacao L.) as a Regulator of Angiogenesis in Duck Embryos
(Anas Platyrhnychos)” was conducted to evaluate the anti-angiogenic potential of T. Cacao L. seed extract in terms of
the number of the main vitelline vessels in A. platyrhnychos (mallard duck) embryo and compare with a commercial
anti-angiogenic drug (Cytoxan)

4.4 Academic Stress and Mental Health Among High School Students
Stress becomes an integral part of human life. Anything that creates a challenge or a threat to our comfort is a stress. All kind
of stress is not considered to be bad because it helps people to perform well. In academics, stress is unavoidable among students,
and it influences students' performance in all academic activities. Academic stress plays a major role in determining the mental
health of students.

EXERCISE NO. 3
RESEARCH TITLE:
Attitudes and Perceptions of Clients to the Public Offices in the Mandaue City During the COVID-19
Pandemic
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION ON THE STUDY:
This study intends to examine the larvicidal effect of Terminalia Catappa fruit and leaf extracts,
specifically on the larvae of Anopheles Mosquito. The duration of the test, as well as its efficacy in
removing mosquitoes, will be used to describe its performance and effectiveness. The research will
take place at Poblacion Oriental Consolacion, Cebu. This location will be used for the study method
and observation since it is the most convenient and safe for the researchers. Above all, an
experimental design will be used in this quantitative research project. To address the study's main
problem, the researcher employs an experimental design. This approach will be used to justify the
larvicidal action of Terminalia Catappa fruit and leaf extracts in various ethanol concentrations, as
well as to evaluate the efficiency of the variables to be administered to Anopheles mosquito larvae.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:
The significance of this research study is that it will allow researchers to investigate the larvicidal
effect of Terminalia Catappa fruit and leaf extracts, specifically on Anopheles Mosquito larvae, in
order to eradicate mosquitoes, which are the main carriers of dengue fever, which is harmful to
human health. The following would benefit from this research:
Society. This would help the society to raise awareness that environmental concerns have come
from the widespread use of synthetic organic pesticides during the last five decades, and this study
suggests using ecologically acceptable, biodegradable, low-cost, indigenous vector control strategies.
Manufacturers. They can benefit from this study by knowing that natural sources might be developed
as an alternative to chemicals in insecticides and larvicides as a vector control tool as a result of the
study's findings.
Future researchers. This existing literature will give them ways by the use of Terminalia Catappa
extract to reduce mosquito larval infected areas. Also, it uses a sequential estimate procedure to
figure out what concentration of extracts mosquito larvae are vulnerable to

Theme Cluster 1: Client’s Involvement

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word client as "a person served by or utilizing the services of a
social agency" whereas, involvement means "the act or an instance of involving someone or something."

The theme that comprises this theme cluster is:

Theme 1: Visitation of Public Offices

Mandaue City's government offices have remained open to serve the public inspite of the eminent risks
of higher rates of confirmed cases of COVID 19 virus. Furthermore, numbers of clients have been
occasionally visited some public offices within the premises of Mandaue City amidst the pandemic.
Apparently shown in the responses that

"Yes, I’ve been to one of the public offices of Mandaue City, like Mandaue City Hall while we are still
in a pandemic." [P1, L1-L4]

"Yes, I’ve been to a public office while in a pandemic." [P5, L1-L2]

Theme Cluster 2: Awareness

The Cambridge Dictionary defines awareness as “knowledge that something exists or understanding of a
situation or subject at the present time based on information or experience.”

The three themes comprising this theme cluster are:

Theme 2: Lack of Awareness

The government implemented safety protocols and safety measures for protecting public office staffs
and clients. However, some visitors were still not aware about this safety protocols implemented in order to
enter the public office.

“But there was one time I’ve seen someone who doesn’t have face shield and was worried because the
guard did not let her go inside the Mandaue City Hall premises.” [P1, L5-L13]

Theme 4: Active responses and awareness

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) a "pandemic"
in early March 2020. Globally, extreme efforts have been done to combat the outbreak's aggressive spread. One
of this was implementing safety protocols when visiting any public office or public places. Together with the
visitors and public offices’ employees they have obeyed the protocols that was applied.

“Along with my co-visitors we are still obeying them.” [P1, L32-L33]

““I’ve seen others and they’re following what the government implemented.”[P3, L14-L16]

“They’re obedient. They’re following the safety protocols.” [P4, L11-L12]

Theme 7: Passive Responses of Safety Protocols

There are still some visitors who were stubborn and refused to observe certain safety procedures inside
the public office. Even if there are signs indicating on what to do inside the office premises.

“There are still some people who are hard-headed, and they refused to follow some safety protocols.” [P2,
L5-L8]

“For example, social distancing, some of them refused to maintain 1 meter apart from another person. So,
you still need to distance yourself from them so that we can still maintain the proper social distancing.”
[P2, L8-L19]

“For example, the distance between the chairs, we should not sit together but there are some who’s hard-
headed and still sit beside each other even if there are signs on how to maintain safe distance in chairs.”
[P2, L32-L38]

Theme Cluster 3: Voluntary Assistance

The merriam-webster defines voluntary as “proceeding from the will or from one's own choice or consent”
whereas, assistance is defined as “the act of helping or assisting someone or the help supplied.”

The theme that comprises this theme cluster is:

Theme 3: Sense of responsibility

Responsible conduct of a facility in a pandemic represents an efficient safety measure among the clients as
well as the personnel and staffs inside the public office. The responsibility among the clients and personnel. The
assurance of the safety among the people who enters the office also depends on the responsibility of the clients
as well as the personnel inside the public office. This is significantly stated in these resposes,

“The personnel in the office observed the proper safety protocols. Even in their employees down to the
visitors, all of them are wearing face mask and face shield, all are disinfected in the entrance of the office,
and they maintain safe distance with each other.” [P8, L3-L11]

“But there was one time I’ve seen someone who doesn’t have face shield and was worried because the
guard did not let her go inside the Mandaue City Hall premises. So, I helped her on where she can buy a
face shield since she was not familiar with the stores in Mandaue.” [P1, L8-L16]

Theme Cluster 4: Security and Safety

The Merriam-webster defines security as “the quality or state of being secure such as freedom from danger, fear
or anxiety” whereas, safety means “the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or
loss.”

The 2 themes that comprising this theme cluster are:

Theme 5: Sustainability of Everyone’s Safety

As the public offices still undergoes essential operations to the public, the safety among the visitors and
staffs inside are owed by the implemented safety securities inside the office, thus, strict protocols must be
essentially obtained in sustaining the safety of everyone. This theme is clearly stated in the following responses,

“The entrance of the Mandaue City Hall has their personnel to check the visitors that are entering and
exiting the City Hall’s premises and if they’re still following the safety protocols that were implemented.
Along with my co-visitors we are still obeying them.”

[P1, L26-L33]

“We can’t easily enter or visit any public office. Sometimes we can’t really enter and since we are not
allowed, we can only just be in the gate and give our intentions to the guard.” [P7, L3-L8]

Theme 8: Lack of strictness in safety security

The lack of strictness in safety measures could also be one of the factors that influences the behaviors of
clients who visit the premises of a public office. It appears to be clearly demonstrated in the following
responses,

“There are still some people who are hard-headed, and they refused to follow some safety protocols.” [P2,
L5-L10]

“But there are still some personnel in the public office that don’t reprimand them even if they’re not
following the right distance from each other.” [P2, L14-L19]

Theme Cluster 5: Perceptions of Clients

The Oxford Languages defines perception as “the state of being or process of becoming aware of something
through the senses” and clients as “a person or organization using the services of a lawyer or other professional
person or company.”

The theme that comprises this cluster is:

Theme 10: Perception of Clients upon entering the Public Office.

Each clients have a perception upon entering the Public Offices on their facilitation method, safety
protocols, and to the other clients as well. They make an opinion towards every interaction they had with the
said Public Offices, both direct and indirect. Apparently shown in the response that

“Those other visitors might be a possible carrier of the virus that cause the pandemic. I must distance
myself for safety.” [P9, L10-L13]

“The personnel in the office observed the proper safety protocols. Even in their employees down to the
visitors, all of them are wearing face mask and face shield, all are disinfected in the entrance of the office,
and they maintain safe distance with each other.” [P8, L3-L11]

As one of the participants stated that she is worried that maybe she is the who’s carrying the virus and that
may lead to affect the other clients.

“I’m worried because what if I’m the one who’s carrying the virus and got them affected.” [P8, L19-L20]
