Applying the Concepts

American Culture and Drug Abuse

1. I used Mail questionnaire survey because it is not costly and I can directly conduct to the respondents.

2. Advantages and disadvantages surveying methods that i didn't use:

ADVANTAGES

• Obtaining in-depth responses to questions from the person being interviewed.

• Interviewers must be trained in asking questions and recording responses, which makes the personal
interview survey more.

DISADVANTAGES

• A major draw back to the telephone survey is that some people in the population will not have phones
or will not answer when the calls are made: hence not all people have a chance of being surveyed
anytime.

• Many people now have unlisted numbers and cellphones, so they cannot be surveyed.

• Costly than other two survey methods.

3. I used ordinal data on a scale of 1 to 5. The scores were 1 = strongly disagree, 2 = disagree, 3 =
neutral, 4 = agree, 5 = strongly agree in which I will be able to determine the findings that focused on
professional sports player that who have been a drug user and how the American culture influence
about the illegal drug by the adults and adolescents and if they certainly response in the particular
aspects of questionnaire and I choosed this kind of data because it is convenient to answer.

4. Yes, the random method that I used was a random typing method in order to make sure if the
selected person is available or not because my survey is only through email that would not so disturbing
in their lives.
5. I used stratified sample because I should divide the population into group then I can randomly select
people from each country to use in the sample and this is good to identify every peoples opinion.Thus,
my research study was definitely convenient while I identified the right respondents and I never
encountered difficulty when I conducted them. Because they answered and cooperate to all given
questionnaire and if ever I can access in the state it shows that I include people from each place around
the United States that will be part also of my respondents.

6. It is appropriate because it's less hassle and will have a highly possible that make us comfortable in
our selected respondents. It will also help in as to be the survey interviewed quickly done and not time
consuming when we undergo the research study. This method consented me to assure that I had
respondents in every part of United States.

7. If a Convenience sample were obtained consisting only in adolescents the results of the study will only
based on the adolescents we can't get the opinion or answered on adults that will be more needed in
the study. Because they are the one who have a wide understanding and lots of experiences. For
instance we can't differentiate both answer to them. If the data or even the respondents are not clearly
a concept and without exact instruments in conducting a study. It may lead to unsuccessful and the
result of the study is not complete, then we can't gather enough information. That's why it should be
balance and unbiased when we will going to conduct a study.

Explain briefly:

1. Good data collection is important because it helps to determine and organize in every exact
information that we gathered from different sources. We need also a specific and reliable answer when
we conduct a survey.

2. They are both collection methods and involved into two categories which is the quantitative and
qualitative techniques in collecting of data.

Applying the Concepts

1. The data were obtained from the selection all about the population of all presidents and have
example that made me understand in data collection.

2. The oldest inauguration age was 69 years old.

3. The youngest inauguration age was 42 years old.

5. The frequency distribution in age of President at inauguration has a peak from 54-57.

6. So far i didn't notice the given frequency distribution if there's outliers.

7. The data appear to be unimodal and fairly symmetric.

Selling Real Estate

1. The histogram of the data gives price ranges on every homes and how can we understand the data
distributed by looking only at the histogram.

2. The frequency polygon shows increases and decreases in the number of home prices and the given
example is not in organize form.

3. The Cumulative frequency polygon shows the number of homes together with the prices on every
homes.

4. It is only extreme value through the house that have been sold in the given data set.

5. Histogram displays the outlier capably because the prices of the homes sold was interval. They are not
the same in price that's why we can directly differentiate the outcomes by each extremes.

6. The distribution of the data is skewed to the right.
