METHODS

In this chapter, the researchers will discuss the research design, respondents of the study,
the sampling technique used and population, the selection criteria, the data gathering procedure,
and the instrumentation of the study. The researchers will make an investigation about the
inequality and discrimination of some people among men and women.

Design

The researchers used descriptive design that attempt to determine describe or identify
what is, while analytical research attempts to establish why it is that way or how it came to be. In
this type of design, aimed at casting light on current issues or problems through a process of data
collection that enables them to describe the situation more completely than was possible without
employing this method. In its essence, descriptive studies are used to describe various aspects of
the phenomenon. In its popular format, descriptive research is used to describe characteristics
and/or behaviour of sample population.

The researchers conduct a questionnaire to the respondents of the study so that the men
and women can answer correctly and also to be able to answer the specific questions that we
conducted to the respondents.

Sample and Sampling

The data of this study came from the men and women (N = 400) in the DPRO-SHS.
Simple Random Sampling was used that removes bias from the selection procedure and should
result in representative samples. However, the sample size of more than a few hundred is
required in order to be able to apply simple random sampling in an appropriate manner.

Selection Criteria

The researchers selected participants, the men and women in the entire city of DPRO-
SHS 200 students for grade 11 and 12, so that 100 is the girls and 100 is boys. Since it is the
target respondents that are needed in this study. The qualified respondents are the students only
in the DPRO-SHS. Wherein, the researchers doesn’t used a specific limit of age in getting some
survey among men and women in the DPRO-SHS. The researchers prepare a questionnaire to the
respondents so that researchers will establish the significant difference between gender
discrimination and inequality among men and women.

Instrumentation

The research instrument in this study was a survey questionnaire that is a self-made test
by the researchers. Each question in the survey was in line with the statement of the problem in
this study. The researchers prepare a questionnaire about the relationship between gender
discrimination and inequality. The instrument used in this study is specifically defined and the
respondent chose from Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree and Strongly Disagree in
Likert scale questions only, conducted by the researchers.

Scale
The researchers used Likert scale to easily identify the answers that given by the
researchers. The Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree and Strongly Disagree are the
chosen answers in the Likert scale. However, the researchers checked out the process easy in the
given answers that the respondent chose.

Data Gathering Procedure

The adapted survey questions are the primary sources of data in the study supplied by the
researchers to the men and women in the DPRO-SHS. The data for this research were collected
using a survey questionnaire through pdf documents about what is the relationship between
gender discrimination and inequality. The survey was contained of 11 questions, which were
related to the men and women including girl, boy and bisexual. The survey consists of answers
that be choose Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. The
researchers considered that the Strongly is rate at (1) and the Agree is (2), Undecided is (3)
which is neutral, Disagree is (4) and the Disagree is (5). After that, the researchers evaluate the
answers of participants.

In the beginning of the survey, the researchers conduct a survey to be able to establish,
and next, to analyze the data of the respondents in this study. Third, the researchers clarified the
results and last, all the answers chosen of the respondents should tally all the predicted results.
All the collected information from the respondents will realize that gender discrimination and
inequality had a significant difference relationship between among men and women.

Statistical tool

In this study we used descriptive statistics to determined what is the relationship between
gender discrimination and inequality. The researchers conduct a survey, and the reseachers will
know about the relationship of this two variables that we studying by carefully answering the
questions of the survey. When the respondents done answering the survey, the researchers easily
clarify the results and last, tallied the predicted results in descriptive statistics. Thus, we used it
to describe the basic features of the data in a study. The researchers provide simple summaries
about the sample and the measures.
Kindly encircle the number if it is, STRONGLY AGREE (1), AGREE (2), UNDERCIDED
(3), DISAGREE (4) AND STRONGLY DISAGREE (5) only. Make sure that you answer it
carefully. The result of this questionnaire will help the researchers for this study. Thank you for
the effort to answer it God bless you.
