Day 8 Assignment: Learning Activity Sheet (LAS) on Reading Comprehension and Writing
A. Work: This is a group work assignment. You can collaborate with two co-participants, consult
each other and exchange ideas to submit a unique and creative activity sheet individually.
B. Task:
● You need to create a Learning Activity Sheet (LAS) for the domain of reading comprehension and
writing.
● Include in your LAS comprehension strategies (retelling, visualizing, and making inferences) and
reading-writing connection activities. Recall that the writing activities should relate to the SRM
read.
● The approach should be through the guided reading of SRMs. Choose an appropriate book for
your students’ grade level.
E. Submission of output:
● This LAS is due at the end of today, Day 8 or on the day your training group agreed on. You must
upload your completed LAS to the Google Classroom. Contact your facilitator or ABC+ ICT
support for assistance in uploading your LAS.
● A printed copy of the LAS template is attached to your module. You can access the digital copy
in your flash drive and in the Google classroom.
● When submitting your LAS, be sure to name your file with District_training group
no._Surname_Name_Day8LAS (Talisay1_mG34_Dela Cruz_Juan_Day8LAS).
F. LAS format: Take note that there are two different LAS templates – one for Region 5 and one for
Region 6. Please choose the appropriate format for you.

Every story that we read has these basic elements:
1. Theme- tells what the story is all about. It is a lesson that we can learn. Sometimes it is an idea
about life.
Ex. courage, friendship, family, love
3. Characters- are the people, animals, creatures or things involved in the story. It answers the
question who.
4. Events- the happenings in the story that are arranged from the beginning,the middle and the
end
Problem- is what it goes wrong in the story that needs a solution
Ex. The witch made the girl sleep.
Winnie, the bubbly little kid helps Mimi, her mommy. As she wakes up, Winnie fixes her bed. In
school, Winnie wins in all contests she joins. That’s why she is called “The Winning Winnie”. Winnie loves
tricks. One day, she went to school in her pink wig. She sat at Winnie’s seat. “Good morning”, she greeted
everyone. “Good morning, “the teacher Miss Lim and the class answered. “Excuse me may I know who
you are?” Miss Lim asked. “I’m Tinniy, Winnie’s twin. I come to join your Trick or Treat.” Everybody was
surprised. Suddenly, Tinny stood and took off her pink wig. “Winnie! Everybody shouted. It’s a trick, It’s a
trick! Miss Lim said. Ha! Ha, Ha! Everybody laughed and enjoyed Winnie’s trick.
