This research study is an example of quantitative descriptive research because this study
aims to define the effects of family problem in the academic performance of the STE students of
Bancal Integrated School. Also the researcher wants to know further knowledge on how the said
problem in the academic performance of STE students. In this research, the researcher will
The Respondents
The researchers manage to accumulate partial of the STE students enrolled in Bancal
Integrated School in School Year 2019-2020 as the respondents of this study. With the minimal

Research Instrument
The survey questionnaire was the most important instrument in a research study to gather
the needed data. The survey questionnaires are distributed to all respondents with a clear and
proper instructions for the respondents to follow. Survey questionnaires consist of five (5) parts.
First part of questionnaire is where the respondents’ profile that consist age, grade level, gender
and name(optional).
Second part of questionnaire where the students identify the problem that their family encounter.
Third part of questionnaire is on how often the students experience family problem.
Fourth part of questionnaire is all about the feeling of the students whenever they encounter a
family problem.
And the last part of the questionnaire is where the average of the students.
The researchers asked permission to all the subject teachers of the respondents. The
researcher personally gave the survey questionnaires and properly gave the instructions on how
to answer the survey questionnaires. The result of the survey questionnaires are statistically
analyzed and used to know the effects of family problem to the academic performance of the
Statistical Treatment
In order to interpret the collected data, the researchers used the following statistical tools.

1. Percentage. This is used to determine the percentage of the students who experience or
encounter family problem and determine of how the students would rate the problem that their
family encounters.
2. Frequency. This is used to tally the respondents answers regarding the yes or no questions
like, did they experience having low grades because of family problem.
3. Likert scale. This was used to determine the level of reaction of the respondents whether they
agree or disagree on a certain topic regarding the questions indicated on the study.
