Weekly Hours:
This week was another good week of interning. The benefit of working at the Fellowship

Home at Merriweather is that we are able to work on the weekends in order to stay on track of

our hours. I am constantly running around and staying busy while at work. I have heard that

some of the interning places are not keeping them busy and their day goes by very slowly. I

enjoy staying busy all day because it makes the longer workdays go by a lot quicker than some

other people’s day.

This week on Wednesday, I only was able to get 4 hours because I was feeling very sick

and even did not go to my class on Thursday. One of the other interns that I was working with on

Tuesday got a stomach bug and I think that I picked it up from her.

I enjoy working on the weekends. It is busy with visitors and there is always something

for us to do. There are no activities planned for us to do on the weekends because of the visitors.

The exciting thing about this week is that Fellowship is now back to phase 2 covid visitation and

the residents' visitors can now go back into the rooms. They must still wear a mask to visit their

friends and families that are in the facticity but at least they are able to go back to the rooms.

Before going back to phase 2, they were only able to meet in the private dining room in the covid

bubbles.

On Saturday, I went over to the memory care side of the facility to help feed some of the

residents during lunch time. I always try and go over to the memory care side to see if they need

help because they have to feed some of the residents. I enjoy asking the staff what they need help

with because they are busy all the time, so I feel like I am helping the staff out. There is potential

for those of us who are going into the nursing field to get paid to work at the facility which is

quite exciting. I am still trying to balance working at the learning center and doing my internship.
