SDG#2
The SDG Zero Hunger, as the name suggest focuses on the food security of people around the
world. The conflicting issue of the SDG is malnutrition of people. This societal issue often
witnessed in Third World Countries particularly Africa and certain parts of Asia. Malnutrition is
resulted by the severe lack of food security in the region. Furthermore, it is frequently not
separable with poverty.

During pandemic, food security of Filipino citizens is continuously lacking as time goes by. The
severe price hike of food staples and basic needs of people has become unbearable to the normal
citizens. In turn, citizens in the bottom of the hierarchy have suffered worst compared to normal
citizens due to the absence of job opportunities. Thus, it contributed to severe increase of
malnutrition not only to the Philippines but to the entire world.

As a teenager and a student, we know there is a limit to the actions we can take. But several
creative solutions became trend for us normal citizens to make contribution in solving the
society’s conflict. Volunteering is the best and simplest way for us to act, participating in
conducting community pantry for the citizens. However, there is a long way for these particular
SDG to be achieved unless massive development in food security happened.
