III. PROCEDURES Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Preparation
1. Greetings Good Morning Children Good Morning Ma’am
Alexandra!
Opening Prayer Let us all stand and pray
Heavenly Father, we praise and
thank you for this wonderful day.
In the name of the Father, the
You may now take your seat Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
2. Checking of Attendance

Is there anyone who’s not in the class

today? None ma’am!

Very good!

A. Reviewing previous lesson or In our previous lesson, you have learned

presenting the new lesson about how you’re going to solve a
perimeter and area of a figures. Yes ma’am!
So, how are we going to solve the area of To find the area of a plain
a plain figures? figures you need to multiply the
length and the width.
Very good!

How about the perimeter of it? To find the perimeter of a plain

figures you have to add the
lengths of all the sides.
Very good, Children!

Drill:
Now, I am going to create a 4 groups and
each group will be given an illustration
board.
Setting of standards in group activity
1. Cooperate with your groupmates
2. Do not do anything not related to
the activity
3. Try your best to give an answer
4. Be responsible

Mechanics:
I have here different plain figures with
given measurements of their sides. You’re
going to solve for their perimeter and area.
The first group who raised the illustration
board first with the correct answer gets 2
points. That group that has the most
number of points will be the winner.
Do you understand class? Yes, ma’am!

Solving for perimeter and area

1. Area= 9x6
= 54ft
Perimeter= 9(2)+6(2)
= 18+12
=30ft
2. Area= 11x3
= 33ft
Perimeter= 11(2)+3(2)
= 22+6
=28ft
3. Area=13x7
=91cm
Perimeter= 13(2)+7(2)
= 26+14
=40cm
4. Area=22x19
= 418in
Perimeter= 22(2)+19(2)
=44+38
= 82
5. Area= 16x25
= 400m
Perimeter= 16(2)+25(2)
= 32+50
=82m
6. Area=10x2
= 20yd
Perimeter=10(2)+2(2)
= 20+4
=24yd

(Declare the winner)

Congratulation everyone! You all did a
great job

Now, we’re going to identify what are the

spatial figures.

Spatial Figures are defined simply as

three-dimensional objects. It is made up of
plain figure whose all sides are joined
together to form a close figure. And they
have their own faces, edges and vertices.

For example:

1. -Cylinder

It has2 edges,3 faces which is

the base, the narrow and its body
and 0 vertices.

2. -Cone
It has 1 edges, 2 faces and 1
vertices where the line met to form
the shale

3. -Rectangular Prism
It has 12 edges, 6
faces and 8 vertices.
--Pyramid
4. It has 8 edges, 5 vertices
and 5 faces

5. -Sphere
It doesn’t have edges and
vertices but it has 1 faces.

6. -Cube
It has 12 edges, 6 faces and
8 vertices

Can someone give me a real objects that

are model of spatial figures?
Ma’am a coca-cola can is an
Very good, what else? example of cylinder figure

Very good children! Another one Ma’am a toblerone is an

example of triangular prism.
Very good everyone! Ma’am a ball is an example of
sphere.
B. Establishing a purpose for the I have here different spatial figures. As I show
lesson you the figure, I will ask somebody to name it
and give or count the number of its edges,
faces and vertices.

1.

Who can give me the name of this Ma’am that figure is a cone
figure?
Very good!
How about the number of its edges, Ma’am that figure has 1 edges,
faces and vertices? 2 faces and 1 vertices.
You’re correct!
2.
Ma’am that is a cube and it has
How about this one? 12 edges, 6 faces and 8 vertices

Very good!
3.

We’re now in number three, give Ma’am that was a rectangular

me another hand to answer. prism and it has 12 edges, 6
faces and 8 vertices.
Correct!
4.

How about this one? Ma’am that is a cylinder and it

has 2 edges,3 faces and 0
Very Good! vertices.
5.

Ma’am that is a sphere and it

And for our last figure. doesn’t have edges and vertices
but it has 1 faces.

Very good everyone!

C. Presenting examples/ 1. Presentation
instances of the new lesson I am going to present a robot
whose parts are made up of spatial
figure. And you’re going to identify
the spatial figure represented by
each part by completing the table
below.

Parts of the Spatial Figure

Parts of the Robot Spatial figure Robot represented
Represented Head/Hat Sphere/Cone
Head Body Rectangular
Body prism
Arm Arm Cylinder
Hand Hand Pyramid

Rectangular prism? Ma’am all the opposite sides are
equal
And lastly the Pyramid? Ma’am it has a square base.
Very good everyone!

Now I am going to give you a nets

to form a spatial figure and you’re
going to assemble it. After that
you’re going to tell me what did
you form.

(Teacher distribute the nets of

cubes, rectangular prism, cylinder
and pyramid)
