Following are the various activities conducted by the institution to enable AICTE
activity points

Activity number: 1
Activity name: TRAFFIC AWARENESS

 Traffic rules are designed to protect you and other drivers on the road. The government of every country
plans some rules and regulations and applies them to the people of that country.
 Although the respective government bodies have enforced laws to control traffic and ensure safety of all
travelers, there is a significant percentage of such travelers on the road who ignore the importance of
traffic laws and fail to abide by those, which has led to an increase in the number of road accidents
each year at an alarming rate.
 With the agenda of bringing about change in this aspect, 52 of us, with the assistance from the traffic
police station at V.V. Puram, Mysore, organized a traffic awareness program at B.C. Lingaiah Circle,
Mysore on May 10, 2022.
 We were educated about the need for a traffic law system, the existing traffic rules, how the citizens are
penalized based on the offence they commit and the need to follow set rules in order to ensure safety of
all road migrants. During the campaign, the public supported us and co-operated with our campaign.
 Volunteers distributed pamphlets containing information on traffic rules and penalties for illicit actions
to the travelers. Banners were used to educate the public on the importance of traffic rules, safety on the
road, and the role of an individual on sighting an accident.

Activity number: 2
Activity name: Plastic Awareness Drive
 The dream of a low-polluting and sustainable society has always been an ideal imagination that has been
encouraging citizens of the world to think about their actions and its effects on nature.
 While there are different alternative ways to reduce toxic waste, the awareness amongst street vendors
and traders on such methods is scarce, which has led to widespread increase in plastic toxicity debt
globally.
 With the goal of initiating change in the current era, as a first step towards a ‘green’ society, the 4 of us
worked on a plastic awareness program at the Dufferin Clock Tower Junction, Mysore on May 17,
2022.
 We distributed cloth bags to street sellers at the junction. During the campaign, the vendors supported us
and co-operated with our campaign. Volunteers collected plastic bags from vendors and handed out
cloth bags and explained the need for proper disposal of non- degradable waste and guided them on how
to carry out safe and efficient waste disposal of plastic.
 Traders were also educated on how toxic waste, such as plastic, has harmed the biodiversity and how
using cloth bags as a replacement could bring about a significant change aiding the environment.

Activity number: 3
Activity name: Plantation Drive

 Planting trees helps to combat a variety of environmental issues, including deforestation, soil erosion,
desertification in semi-arid areas, and global warming, while also improving the beauty and balance of
the environment. The oxygen supply increases as trees absorb harmful gases and emit oxygen.
 We held a Plantation Drive on May 14, 2022 at the Inkal Government School, Mysore. This program's main
goal was to raise awareness on the importance of enhancing flora and its benefits.
 The headmaster of the school briefed us about the importance of plant life and the increase in the loss of
flora in the current era.
 As volunteers of the Plantation Drive, we planted a sapling at the school ground, not only to contribute to
the nature or to promote plantation, but to also inspire the students of the school to continue the trend in
playing vital roles on the road to ‘green’ Earth.
 Some were in charge of providing water, while others dug a hole to plant the sapling.

Activity number: 4
Activity name: Cleanliness Drive

 Cleanliness is the skill of maintaining a pristine mind, body, home, and environment. Cleaning should
be a part of our everyday routine because it is beneficial to both our mental and physical health.
 Our social health depends on the cleanliness of our neighbourhood and surroundings. It is not the
obligation of others to live in a clean environment; rather, it is our responsibility, because filth can
cause a range of ailments and diseases, as well as act as a breeding ground for mosquitos and flies.
 In order to contribute to the cleanliness of a society, we as students held a Cleanliness Drive on May 14,
2022 at the Hinkal Government School, Mysore.
 This program's main goal was to raise awareness of the importance of cleanliness and its benefits. As
part of the Cleanliness Drive, we cleaned a section of the school. Weeds, thorn bushes and other waste
were collected from the section and dumped into garbage trucks later.
