COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number : CRI 314
2. Course Name : Criminal Law (Book 1)
3. Course Description : This course shall deal with the study of the concepts and principles of Law
and Criminal Law, the Criminological Theories of Criminal Law, relevant
provisions of the Revised Penal Code Book 1, and related jurisprudence.
4. Pre-requisite : None

6. Credit : 3.0 units lecture
7. Class/ Lab Schedule : 6 hours per week

First Exam Part 1: Module 1-2 Multiple Choice Questions You are expected to explain knowledge on Philippine criminal laws. This includes topics on the origin of criminal
law and its theories, characteristics, and classes.

Second Exam Part 2: Module 3-4 Multiple Choice Questions You are expected to extrapolate knowledge on circumstances which affect criminal liability. This includes topics
on the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children and the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Law.
Third Exam Part 3: Module 5-6 Multiple Choice Questions You are expected to extrapolate knowledge on persons criminally liable. This includes topics on participations of
criminal offenders and Obstruction of Justice Law.

Final Exam Part: Module 1-7 Multiple Choice Questions You are expected to familiarize the imposition of penalties and modification and extinction of criminal liability.

the member of a group. Each team cannot be more than five (5) students.
2. When the professor will set the first deadline, the group are required to submit the following:
a. Submitted proposal with specific problem and solutions.
b. Acceptance Letter must be signed by the professor
3. Changing teams will not be allowed during the term unless reasons that changing is reasonable.
Social Computing
1. The whole class will create a group in Google using the email address that the institution will provide.
2. Other communications like assignments and other activity can be placed in the group/LMS/Quipper
3. All member of the group will comply with the ethical standard in using the site.
4. Any violation in using the group is subject to removal in the group and may be acted upon the university policies and guidelines.
Consultation
1. Observed e-consultation period as stipulated.
2. Observed proper time and places in dealing with the e-consultation.
3. Please be aware that upon e-consultation a prepared documents and complete requirements for e-consultation are observed.
Class Session-On-line/Virtual
1. Each student must have Quipper account for each subject which will be assigned by the quipper in-charge.
2. There must be 3 synchronous and 3 asynchronous activities for each week.
3. Students are encouraged to practice semi-military discipline; one must act as class marcher, lead the prayer and address courtesy
to subject teacher.
4. Electronics gadgets are allowed during classes but make it sure that the gadget is properly used as part of the subject matter that we
are discussing.
5. Making notes using camera are also allowed but make it sure that it is made in descent and with a manner of respect when taking
one.
6. Making excuses during classes will be granted upon reasonable explanation is accepted and not with regards to affecting the class.
7. Missing some lecture or discussion in the class would not mean to a special treatment. Coping-up with the said topic is one
responsibly of the student by asking classmates of their notes.
8. Missing activity is also being the responsibility of the student to ask the problem to classmate and deadline will not being moved in
favor of you.
9. In case of uncontrolled circumstances (illness, accident, etc.), a formal communication must be provided for documentation and
basis for the professor to deliberate.
10. Utilize modern technologies for academic use, Saturdays are scheduled for LMS use.

Attendance
1. Attendance is to be CHECKED at all times.
2. Policies about attendance with regards to DROP are mandated in the student handbook therefore following such policies are also
observed in the entire duration of the class.
3. Late is also being recorded and the policies about this matter is also following the student handbook.

Submission and Requirements Using LMS/Quipper/Modules


1. Submission of requirements will be observed deadline.
2. A deadline will be set by the professor to ensure submission would be on time.
3. A requirement that will not meet the deadline will not be accepted anymore but when a valid reason will be presented a
consideration may occur.
4. Online submission is also observing a deadline policy. When in case an online submission will not be carried out to the merit of the
student please secure your sent item on your email for proof of passing it online.
5. Base – 15 grading policies should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major exams are recommended to attend
the tutorial class.

1. Communication is very important in learning process of each in everyone, thought that are to be settled must be acted upon opening
such thought. All negative and positive thought are open for improvement and may help to encourage each in everyone to be
productive.
2. Friendship may occur during outside the campus but in still the professor-student relationship inside the campus most especially
inside the classroom
