professional licensure) using knowledge and technical proficiency in the areas of crime prevention, law enforcement, crime detection, correctional
administration, human rights, and public safety.
2. Expresses oneself clearly and communicates effectively with stakeholders both in oral and written forms.
3. Organize and lead groups to work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams to implement to implement related activities
in crime prevention, law enforcement, crime detection, correctional administration, human rights, and public safety.
4. Demonstrate professional corporate citizenship, ethical responsibility, historical and cultural awareness, and social responsibility in performing functions as
criminologists.

Course Title : Fundamentals of Investigation and Intelligence

Contact Hours : 4 Hrs. Lecture every week for 18 weeks
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
All throughout, this course deals with topics on introduction to criminal investigation including its general history, contemporary, basic and key
principles with emphasis on the difference between interview and interrogation. Included also are topics on the fundamentals of arrest, search, seizure and raid
operations. Likewise, this course covers the basic principles on relevant Laws, Constitutional Rights, New Rules on Evidence and Criminal Procedure in relation to
Investigation. To supplement, discussions on the proper methods of collecting, marking, tagging and preserving of evidence is also provided as well as the various
concepts in criminal identification. There are also discussions regarding proper management of crime scene, how to conduct crime scene search and different ways
in crafting a crime scene sketch. Lastly, discussion on basic surveillance and concepts of intelligence has been added since these topics are of essence specifically in
the conduct of criminal investigation.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Completing the Major Exams and Performance Tasks with a passing mark of 75%.
2. Reading the assigned texts and other learning materials prior to attending classes.
3. Active participation in activities and discussions including individual and group dynamics to achieve the Learning Outcomes.
4. Regular and punctual attendance in class and in submission of requirements.

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:

Retention
 All students must meet the academic standards set by the College in its program of quality education by obtaining at least 2.50 GWA. A one semester
extension will be allowed for the student to meet the required GWA.
 A grade of 2.50 in all professional courses is required for the student to be admitted to the third year and fourth year level.
