are various physical individual differences.
2. Adaption/use
Answer: Ella, a friend of mine, is an athlete. She is a member of the swim team. She opted to perform regular
trainings since she wanted to develop her speed and strength. Her body adapted to these types of activities and
began to gain strength and speed.

3. Reversibility/Disuse
Answer: Star is a skilled table tennis player. She is one of the athletes who will compete in a sporting event.
She put in a lot of effort in her training. She is a good player.  She has been victorious numerous times.
However, when summer arrived, she decided to stop training. Her strength diminishes, she become less
aerobically fit, her flexibility decreases, etc. This happen in a relatively short time because she stop training,
which can be frustrating.

4. Overload
Answer: An example of a program that uses the overload principle would be one that prescribes squatting a
prescribed weight for five sets for one week, moving to squatting a slightly heavier load for five sets the next
week, and progressively increasing the loads each subsequent week.

5. Progression
Answer: Eurydice is concerned about her increased weight. She has a jogging schedule that she follows. She
always goes for a jog in the bay walk first thing in the morning. It used to be only 5 rounds, but after hearing
her friends comment she looked fat, she decided to increase it to 15 to 20 rounds.

6. Recuperation/Recovery
Answer: Renan enjoys working out at the gym. He has a personal trainer who advises him on the type of
workout he should do. He completed push-ups, plunks, squats, and other exercises as instructed by his
trainer. After that, his trainer instructs him to rest for two days and then return.

7. Variation
Answer: A road runner doing a monthly 5km all out effort on a set course or race. This means the athlete or
coach is able to compare like with like. Those opponents of the principle of variation state that you just need
your staple workouts and then you just need to train harder each time.

8. Time Pattern
Answer: Gojo is a CEO with a lot on his plate. He has a room in his house filled with exercise equipment. He
works out for an hour every day before taking a shower when he gets home.
