Unit Objectives:

Ask students to focus on the outcome. This is a good way to show students what the lesson will

1) Do you prefer to take photos using a camera or a mobile phone?


Well, I would say a mobile phone is better. I assume that you almost always have
your mobile phone with you, so you can easily __shoot_______ a photo when you
need to.

Um….Many people do, but I don’t. Perhaps, I prefer to keep those ___________ to

don’t really know.

Why?
Well, I must say that I like to take photos by myself so that the precious moments are
captured from my perspective. I’m not really good at ___________ for pictures….
and I always find it embarrassing when being a model for someone.

someone?
4) What kind of photos do you like to take? Why?
Well, I think the kinds of photos do not matter. I tend to __________ things that are
not moving, since I feel it is easier for me to catch the right angle to make the picture
more eye-catching.

5) Do you prefer to take pictures of people or of scenery?
Oh I would say that ___________ photography is more appealing to me as I was
born and lived for quite a long time in Phu Yen, a small city whose population is low
but the scenery is gorgeous. I’ve shot lots of great pictures there.

1) Do you have any hobbies?


Oh, I do __pursue________ some hobbies. I am sort of interested in making model
planes, collecting stamps and cycling in the countryside.

Erm… I would say that stamp collecting is __________ because I like travelling
much. I don’t think that collecting stamps allows me to see different cultures and
scenery of different countries. I prefer to go sightseeing on my own.

3) What do you usually do at weekends?
Well, at weekends, I often invite my friends to my place and um… I am kind of

Well, I would say that in Vietnam, people do many different things. For example,

and playing musical instruments are popular among people.
