BONTOC, Mountain Province – – Tricycle fares in this capital have been increased

since March 25, 2022. Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey announces a provisional price
increase for tricycles in Bontoc, Mountain Province, in response to a request from the
Bontoc Tricycle Operators and Drivers' Federation (BOFATOD) for continued price
increases of fuel and tricycle unit parts. Before, Sangguniang Bayan issued Resolution
432, Series 2022. As a result, the mayor suspended the implementation of existing
regulations to fix the price of tricycles and issued Executive Order No. 05, 2022,
stipulating a temporary increase.

The price offered a tricycle fare in Bontoc, Mountain Province. From the regular fare of
P9.00, it has increased to P13.00 for each tricycle ride that covers any distance within the
limit points. students, seniors, and persons with disabilities (PWD) are entitled to a fixed
discounted fare of P10.00 pesos for all distances within the border. However, discount
fares on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are not available. A maximum fare of 15.00
pesos will be charged for a tricycle ride that covers the entire round trip to any two border
points. Students, seniors, and people with disabilities receive a 12.00 pesos discount on
tricycles traveling on all routes to and from the two borders. However, the provisional fee
applies only to tricycles with a municipal tricycle driver's license (MTOP) valid and renewed
in 2022. Colorum or tricycle units that have not yet renewed their respective licenses do
not have the privilege to collect the above new fare matrix. Tricycle operators are advised
to stop by the mayor's office to get a copy of the newly revised fare matrix.
