“Very Good. Thank you so much. Another?” “Ma’am!”

“Okay Miss Chris-Ann?” (Student raise his/her assignment)

“Excellent. You got it right!” “Thank you, Ma’am!”

“So, based on the information that you’ve gathered from the
internet about how the computer works, I found it very related
and all of your answers are correct. Now, please indicate 5
points on the upper right of your assignment paper as your score.
Then pass it on the front.”

C. Review of past lesson

“This time, let’s have a short recap about the lessons that we
have tackled yesterday, and yesterday we discuss about the
Operating System and its examples and classifications. Isn’t?” “Yes Ma’am.”

“Again, what is Operating System?” “Ma’am! An Operating System (OS) is an

interface between a computer user and
computer hardware”
“CORRECT! The Operating system is a piece of system
software that serves a bridge between software and hardware. It
is the only way to communicate with hardware.”

“Did you still remember the examples of Operating system? “Yes, Ma’am.”
Then, what are those?”

“EXCELLENT!!”

“Can you still differentiate the two classifications of operating (the student will raise his/her hands to
system which are the Multi-users and Single-user?” answer the question.)
“Multi-user allows for the execution of
multiple task at the same time while
single -user is a type of operating system
“WOW! Great answers!” designed for use on a computer.”

D. Motivation

“Before we proceed to our lesson proper, let’s have an activity

first. This Activity is called “Arrange me first. Then, find my (students are counting)
pair later” So, let’s divide this class into 4 groups. Please count
1-4. Starting here.”

“Are you done class?” “Yes, we are!”

“Here is the mechanics of our activity for today:

As you can see, I have prepared here a sample pictures of a cycle
graphic organizer about the 4 basic components of computer.
And as you’ve notice, under each picture there is a blank space.
So, in order for you to fill it, all you need to do first is kindly get
your Jumbled letters inside those pockets posted on my left side.
Next, arranged those letters with your groupmates. Then after
you arranged the jumbled letters, you may now paste it on its
respective sequence of stages.
Take note: Analyze the picture carefully because that will serve
as your clue. Don’t ‘worry if you got a wrong answer because
this is only a pre-diagnostic activity. You have 1 minute to do
the task. SO, ARE YOU EXCITED!?” “Yes, we are very excited Ma’am!”
“Now let’s start!”

1. UTIPN
1. UTIPN – INPUT
2. OEARTSG
2. OEARTSG – STORAGE
3. TOPUUT
3. TOPUUT – OUTPUT
4. ISPSROECGN
4. ISPSROECGN – PROCESSING

“TIMES UP!! Go back to your seat. Now, let’s check if all your
(students are praying to win)
answers are correct. “

GROUP 1 – Got the correct answer!

GROUP 2- I’m sorry but you got the wrong answer.
“YEHEY! Students are clapping.”
GROUP 3- Got the Correct Answer!
GROUP 4- Got the correct answer!

“Congratulations! Because each group got the correct answer.

So, let’s give yourself a big round of applause. Thank you so
much for the energetic participation.”
“Ma’am! Our topic for today is all about
“Based on our activity, can you now guess what will be our topic
the process of computer?”
for today?”
“Ma’am. Our topic for today is about
“Very Good. Your answer is very related to our topic for today.
How Computer Works.”
But I want you to give me the specific answer. Anyone?”

“Excellent.! Give your classmate a fireworks clap

(Everybody’s clapping a fireworks clap)
“VERY GOOD! You may now take your seat.”

“Now, let’s move on to our lesson’s objective.”

(presenting the objectives through slides)

“At the end of the discussion, you are expected to...”

“who wants to read the objectives?”

‘Ma’am, may I?”
“Yes, Go ahead.”

E. LESSON PROPER

“Our topic for today is all about HOW COMPUTER WORKS.

“A computer is a machine composed of hardware and software

components. A computer works by combining input, storage,
processing, and output. All the main parts of a computer system
are involved in one of these four processes.”

4 BASIC COMPONENTS OF COMPUTER

INPUT- an input device lets you communicate with a computer.

You can use input devices to enter information and issue
commands.
For examples:

Keyboard- most used input device. Known as typewriter.

“How can you say that keyboard is an example of Input

(Student will share his/her insights)
device?”

Mouse- is a small handheld input device that controls a

computer screen’s cursor or pointer in conjunction with the way
it is moved on a flat surface.

(student will share his/her insights)

“How can you say that Mouse is an example of Input
device?”

Scanner- is an input device that scans documents such as

photographs and pages of text. When a document is scanned, it
is converted into a digital format.

‘How can you say that scanner is an example of Input

device?” (student will share his/her insights)

PROCESSING – The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the

main chip in a computer. The CPU processes instructions,
performs calculations, and manages the flow of information
through a computer system.

PURPOSE OF THE COMPUTER PROCESSING UNIT

-The CPU is the most active part of a PC, performing
calculations and manipulating data at speeds up to billions of
operations per second. The CPU runs your favorite applications,
such as media players, word processors and Web browsers, first
loading them from the hard drive into memory, then executing
the instructions that make up the software. Without a properly
functioning CPU, the computer cannot get data from the hard
drive, display information on the screen or run any programs.

What do you think will happen if there is no CPU on the

(student will share his/her insights)
computer?

5 Reasons Why a Computer Will Not Start Without a CPU.

1. The computer cannot boot up without a CPU
2. The computer cannot access any of its data without a
CPU
3. The computer cannot load any software or applications
without a CPU.
4. The computer cannot generate any video or audio
without a CPU
5. The computer cannot connect to the internet without a
CPU

STORAGE- a storage device holds information. The computer

uses information stored on these devices to perform task.

Hard disk SSD Flash drive DVD

How can you say that all of these examples of storage are (student will share his/her insights)
very important in holding information’s?
OUTPUT DEVICES- an output device lets a computer
communicate with you. These devices display information on a
screen, create printed copies or generate sound.

Printer Monitor

Loudspeaker Projector

“Can you explain what is output device? And as a future

educator, how it contributes to the different learning styles (student will share his/her insights)
of the students? (visual, auditory, reading and writing, and
kinesthetic)”

“Okay Class, in your own idea, why is it important for you to “Ma’am. Knowing the 4 basic
study the four basic components of computer?” components of computer is very
important for it help us to be more
knowledgeable and skilled when it comes
in troubleshooting of our computer.”

‘Excellent! Give your classmate a rainbow clap.” (Students are clapping a rainbow clap).

BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING OF COMPUTER

-Consult Google
-Reboot
-Check Connections
-Look for program updates (Interactive discussions between teacher
-Close Background tasks and students)
-Clean up your Hard drive
-Run an antivirus program.

(will be presented through slides during class discussion.)

F. Application
“Since you’ve already known the 7-basic troubleshooting of
computer. This time, kindly select one, then perform it with your
groupmates. You’re group performance will be graded based on
the rubrics that I will be provided. You may use it as your guide
too. After you accomplished the task please provide me a brief
step of how you troubleshoot your computer.”
