What is it?
• AP Classroom is a supplemental resource that
gives students the opportunity to prepare for
their AP exams directly through the College
Board

• The College Board gives students the

opportunity to learn directly through them,
which is a great opportunity since they are the
ones who give out these exams
• Advanced Placement (AP) has constantly come under fire for
unequal access and being taught ineffectively to
underrepresented students

• Ineffective access from low-income students has been an

Issues with issue since the exam is expensive, and some students might
have financial access to better exam preparation materials

the AP • College Board has made attempts to provide equitable access

Program (expansion beyond catering to elite circles has occurred), but

access to information and resources continues to persist

• AP Classroom is a steppingstone in providing students an

equal resource that is equally beneficial for all students

In a Classroom Context

• Students are able to watch daily short videos from AP teachers around
the country. These videos are saved and go through every single topic of
the AP curriculum

• Assessments and practice can be given through past AP exam questions

and other AP-style questions

• Teachers can track student progress, and students can see their
progress as well
• Students can see why they got things wrong and get immediate
explanations
• Students have the opportunity to learn directly
through the College Board, getting the most

Pros useful information for the AP exam

• Student progress can be tracked through

progress checks for all units

• Short daily videos are released for students to

review material

• Unit guides are given, and outline content and

skills covered on the exam

• Topic questions are given so students can focus

on things they struggle with most
• The AP website consistently has issues

• The website isn’t always easy to navigate

• Teachers have to invite students and grant

access to unlock everything

• If students don’t have access to AP classroom,

they only have access to daily videos

• The amount of information and resources given

can be overwhelming, so guidance from
teachers may be required to figure out what
specifically to focus on

Cons • Immediate feedback isn’t typically offered for
