PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION

MODULE 1

NAME: REYES, JOWENA

COURSE AND SECTION: BSBA-MM B2021

ACTIVITY 1.

Directions: Analyze the picture below and make your definition of communication. Your
definition must not be more than 50 words. Write your answer in the space provided.

- The act of sending information from one place, person, or organization to

another is known as communication. A sender, a message, and a recipient are
all part of every communication. Giving, receiving, and exchanging
information. In other words, talking, writing, and listening or reading is the
act of communication. Good communicators pay attention to what others are
saying, speak or write clearly, and respect differing viewpoints.

ACTIVITY 2.
Directions: Illustrate the communication process through a diagram.

Although there are several models and diagrams for the communication process,
the basic diagram that is utilized for every communication process is common. My
communication teacher said when I was in grade 11, What she taught us was " The
main elements of a communication process are a sender, who transmits the
message, a receiver, who receives the message, and the channel of communication,
which is the means via which these people communicate. Then there's the concept
of noise, which exists as a barrier to successful communication, and finally there's
feedback, which is required in all types of two-way communication " .

ACTIVITY 3.

Directions: Recall a real-life experience of miscommunication that happened to you in the past.
It may be with a friend, a teacher, partner, classmates, family, or a stranger. Think about the
problems or barriers that interfered with the communication, and take note of the source of
miscommunication and the resolution of the situation.

Write your answers in the space provided.

Questions:

1. What did you say that was not understood by the person you are speaking to?

- I have a boy best friend and his brain is always floating so sometimes when
I ask him something, his answer to my question is far away. I asked him
what our assignment was because I was absent and he answered, do we have
a project? so we do not understand each other

2. What do you think was/were the cause/s of miscommunication?

- That, as far as I'm know, is why we don't understand each other because
there's a big language barrier between myself (The Sender) and him (The
Reciever). When I send a message, it goes through several steps and loses its
original meaning.
