- When the structures are bought by the private firms they pay
taxes to the government. Here the private firm is at profit as it
gains more money in the later period whereas our government just
earns money in the form of taxes. Although if government keeps
the structure with themselves they can earn more in the form of
tourism.
under privatization, monuments like the Taj Mahal- one of the 7
wonders of the world, get auctioned off to private companies in
order to restore and maintain the services, etc. Monuments like
these get auctioned off only to the highest bidders. The highest-
earning companies in India are tobacco companies who earn
approximately 348 billion Indian rupees. Obviously, these
companies will advertise their product outside of the auction won
structure. Now imagine tobacco posters at the entrance of
structures like the Taj Mahal. This symbol of love being tarnished
for the sake of product advertising by tobacco companies should
be seriously looked into. This act not only ruins the essence of
the monument but spreads the wrong message to large masses.
This is a very severe issue that must be looked into, and
considered too.
• The shooting at Jallianwala Bagh is an important
memory. it is a reminder of the number of lives that
were lost during the British Raj. Currently this monument
of memories is being renovated and in doing so, the
bullet holes have been made to cover up. This is straight
disrespect to the value of life. Jallianwala Bagh will lose
its reason to exist with the bullet holes being covered up.
This disrespect towards the lives of people, should not
be tolerated.
• Jallianwala Bagh’s façade has completely changed over
the years due to imposed face-lifting exercise. With its
heritage structure compromised, it has become a
recreation park instead of what its historical significance
should be.
• Even with the addition of amenities like toilets, services,
etc., there wont be any meaning left for this structure.
• The major decisions are always taken by the government, as
the private companies have no right so it is better to be
conserved by the government, abiding by the democracy and
considering other political aspects as well. The government puts
forward publicly-awaring policies which are beneficial to both:
the government as well as the people when privatized there
will be no flexibility in these terms. The Prince Of Wales
Museum can be taken as the reference structure here.
• It also affects on the historical maps i.e. identity of those
structures can be lost if privatized affecting on the maps. (in
geographical context).
• Viewing all aspects of maintenance for these Heritage
Structures, we can come to a solution where we don't let a
private company completely cloud the Heritage name and also
abides by the democratic quotient of Government rule. This
means we can expect a collaborated settlement between the
Government sector and the Private sector to get the best of
both worlds. This can be by-far the most revolutionary (at the
same time efficient) change we can see into the future.

• Presently, India has the sixth-largest number of heritage sites
in the world. This itself shows, how the Heritage structures
forms the backbone of our culture.
• It forms the very identity of our country and has kept it intact
for years, so jeopardizing the value of something so beautiful,
enormous, and admirable over Privatizing these Heritage
Structures and getting their names dug under the
Commercialized label will not only change the identity of those
structures, but it will also affect and change the perspective of
our entire country will be viewed and will definitely not be
worth it, because we are known for our culture and Heritage,
for our history and spiritual beliefs and practices.
• These are the only living proof and an interactive
experience for the people that come from all over the
world to view this. But when we say ‘experience for the
people, it’s not just people from outside the world, even
thinking about our own country, our own people: there is
this sentimental & cultural values of these structures that
draws our people because they have so much belief
attached to it. its not just the belief that draws them to
it but also supports so many small businesses:
• skilled labor is the primary occupation that keeps our
culture feeling fresh and alive even today! By Privatizing
these structures, let aside anything else, we lose the
faith of our people, and for what? To go commercial?
Just to fit in like all these other countries? Because
these are the only things that make us unique, which
show that we’re made to stand out.
• We have all known and heard, we Indians are known
for our strongest beliefs and spirituality, our Pride lies
here, in this rich culture left behind its essence shouldn't
be let lost over Privatizing in the name of utilizing that
space.
• Once we’re in it, the competition of Privatizing will just
drag their names sinking in, it never just stays light and
mellow forever -the way these political pacts are made
to promise. These structures were made bold enough
through their materials and sizes for them to stand out
and gain visual and cultural importance and we are
here to Preserve it not Privatize it.
