Have you ever danced “Maglalatik”? Have you watched this dance? How will you
know if the dancers are in correct rhythm with the music? What will happen if they are not
in correct timing?
All living things and moving things around us have its own rhythm. Even your heart
beats have its own rhythm. Rhythm defines as the regular recurrence of long and short
sounds. When you heard your favorite song, you usually respond on the rhythm by means of
nodding your head, stomping your feet, snapping your fingers and usually dancing with the
beat of music.
In this activity sheets, you will learn more about the beatings of different songs, their
notes and rests. You will be guided as to how they must be observed in a musical
composition. Are you ready for a week of learning and singing?
LET US REVIEW (PAGBALIK-ARALAN MO)
(This contain an activity or objective type-assessment to recall the previous lesson. (5 or 10 items will
do)
Just like notes, there are also different kinds of rests each with a corresponding
time value. Whenever you see a rests symbol in a musical composition, it signals you to
pause or take a quick breath in music. Below are the kinds of rests and their
corresponding value.
The time value of a note can also change because of the use of dots. A dot (.),
when placed after a note or rests, increases the time value or duration of the note or
rests by half of its original value.
Example:
Identifying notes and rests with their values found in the song.
