experience for me. I learned a lot and was able to see what I was learning in class come to life in a
classroom. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to observe an experienced and amazing
teacher. I got to see her practice positive guidance and implement standards and curriculum. I got to
learn about the differences between formative and summative evaluations. I got to see small and large
group teaching and independent learning. I got to learn about the pros and cons of the teaching
profession. I learned about how a first-grade team works together to form a team for all their students. I
even got to witness parents come into the classroom to be guest readers during Nevada Reading
Week. Most importantly, I was able to observe a teacher who is truly passionate about her work and
really loves to teach. Watching this teacher makes me want to be a teacher more than ever before. I
could not have asked for a better mentor.
