Lesson Plan in Math for Grade 10

I. Objectives

Given Interactive Media, PowerPoint presentations and sample problems on

arithmetic sequence and series, the Grade 10 students are expected to do the following
with 95% accuracy:

a. differentiate arithmetic sequence from arithmetic series;

b. identify parts of the arithmetic sequence and series;
c. solve word problems involving arithmetic sequence and series.

II. Subject Matter

Word problems involving Arithmetic Sequence and Arithmetic Series

III. Procedure

A. Drill
Give students expressions involving the PEMDAS rule through
PowerPoint presentation. The students have to answer these expressions in
the provided illustration board with time allotment. The time allotment will
depend on the level of the difficulty of each question.
B. Review
Have an activity called “PIC A WORD”. The students will be able to
identify Polya’s Steps in Solving Word Problems through a PowerPoint
Presentation. It must be answered within the given time allotment (15-20
seconds). This should be done by group.

IV. Presentation

The students will be given a problem relating to the movie “Train to Busan”.
Using the Interactive Media, the students will be exposed to questions regarding
the topic.

There are 125 passengers in the first cubicle, 150 in the second cubicle
and 175 in the third cubicle, and so on in an arithmetic sequence. What is the
total passenger in the first 25 cubicles?

1. Problem Analysis

a. What is asked in the problem?

b. What are given?

b.1 Insert the ideas about arithmetic series and sequence.

b.2. Insert the ideas about the parts of arithmetic sequence and

series.

c. What should you do?

The teacher will explain the process on how to solve problems involving
Arithmetic and Series.

2. Fixing Skills

The teacher will be presenting questions to students by again giving a

group activity. The students will answer the questions by raising the flag
with the letter which corresponds to their answer. They will check their
answers if it is i or not by clicking the same letter on the flag they have
raised. They will be scored accordingly.

Test II. Analyse the problem well.

After knee surgery, your trainer tells you to return to your jogging program slowly.
He suggests jogging for 12 minutes each day for the first week. Each week
thereafter, he suggests that you increase that time by 6 minutes per day. How
many weeks will it be before you are up to jogging 60 minutes per day?
