1. What is important to follow the guidelines in designing English Language Teaching


Materials ?
why is it important to follow the guidelines in designing English language teaching material
guideline material is made with the consideration of what material will be taught and how it will
be brought to the class. not only that, teaching material also gives the guideline of the material
needed for the student in order to achieve the goals and fill in the necessity of what the students
decided.
With the guideline made, teaching learning process can be more efficient and practical since the
teachers have a guideline to follow, if going out of the guideline there’s a possibility that the
teaching learning activity could stray away from the goal decided from the beginning and it
could be a waste of time for both the teachers and the students if the material given is not
impactful.
through the guideline, students also acknowledge what are they going to learn so they know what
to expect of the material and make the teaching learning environment more comfortable as it’s
one of the advant

2. How to desigh English teaching materials for kind garden, elementary, secondary and
university? What are appropriate learning materials for those levels?
to desigh English teaching materials for kind garden, elementary, secondary and university in my
poin of view The teachers/ lecturer need to employ the interesting activities. English
teachers/lecturer are also responsible to motivate the students by providing good materials that
can interest the students. The materials have to be based on the analysis regarding the learner
needs. The materials provided also should adjust the students’ ability so that the students can
enjoy learning English. The materials for adult in secondary and university will be different from
the young learner’s materials. In young learner’s materials, there are many pictures that can
make the learners interested in learning.
For Kindergarten level: It would be effective to apply some material through games. It would be
easier for them to understand something.
Basic level? Elementary school: the teacher can also apply some of the material through hands-
on exercises which also allow students to do self-exploration. This might sound a bit advanced
since it's a basic level
Materials for adults in high schools and universities will differ from those for young students.
they will need a lot of analyzing and critical analysis.
The age of the students is one of major factors in teachers’ decision on how and what to teach.
Materials designer need to find the students’ wants and needs in learning English. For
teachers/lecturer, especially who teach young language learners, the use of media such as
pictures, board, video and etc. is important to support their study. The appropriate materials are
needed to support the learning process so that it can run smoothly.
