UNIT 17: HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT?


Lesson 2: Parts 1,2,3
I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will able to:
1. Knowledge: Ask and answer questions about prices of clothes (plural)
2. Skill: Listen and speak
3. Attitude: Pay attention to the lesson

IV. Procedure
1. Class organization: check attendance (1 min)
2. New lesson: (37 mins)

-T shows a song on the TV and asks Ss to watch

-Ss listen and sing along and guess some clothes Sing a song: “How much are the…..”
in that song

II. Presentation (15 mins)


1. Vocabulary: (8 mins)
-T does an action and asks Ss to guess
-T shows the picture about some clothes (plural)
and asks Ss to repeat
-T sticks the word card on the board and asks Ss
to repeat
-T asks Ss to look and listen, T reads aloud the
new words 1 time
-T asks SS to look, listen and repeat after T 1-2
times

-T shows 4 pictures on the board and 4 word


cards on the board. *Rub out and remember
-T rubs one word card out.
-T asks Ss to remember what is rubbed out.
-T keeps doing until the last picture.
Introduce the forms:
-T shows the pictures in the dialogue 2. Sentence patterns (7 mins)
-T asks Ss to identify the characters and gets their
comments on the pictures:
-T sets context: “Mai and Hoa are going
shopping together”
-T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen to the
tape once
-T roles play and tells the story again
-T reads aloud each sentence in the dialogue
-T asks Ss to look, listen and repeat the dialogue
sentence by sentence after T
-T divides class into 2 teams: Hoa and Mai
-T asks 2 teams to role play to practice the
dialogue and change role.
-T asks Ss to work in pairs to practice the
dialogue
-T invites some pairs to practice the dialogue
Forms:
-T introduces the forms and asks Ss to read aloud

the forms by replacing the different pictures
B: They’re……………….

III. Practice (10 mins)


Point and say
-T invites some pairs to go to the board
-1st student chooses 1 picture, 2nd student points
and asks “How much are the…….?”
-1st student looks at the picture and answers the
question
-T asks Ss to change role

IV. Production (10 mins)


-T gives Ss a table and asks them to move around Let’s talk
the class to ask their friends
-If your friend can do that activity  you tick

V. Consolidation (1 min): Ss have learnt how to ask and answer questions about the prices of
clothes (plural)
