I. Aims: By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to ask and answer
questions about what someone is going to do/play on Sports Day.

(5’) 1. Teaching vocabulary: class
* Look, listen and repeat:
Presentation - Elicit the character and have Ss guess what they are
(15’) saying. T- whole
- Play the recording for Ss to repeat the lines in the class
speech bubbles two times.
- Divide the class into two groups. One repeat Phong’s
part and the other repeat Nam’s part.Then change the
role.
- Ask Ss to work in pair and call some pairs.
2. Model sentence:
(10’) A: What are you going to do on Sports Day? Pairwork
B: I’m going to play badminton.
- Ask Ss to look at the four pictures to ask and answer
questions about animals at the zoo.
- Remind some new words.
- Ask Ss to repeat the question and answer chorally.
- Ask Ss to repeat individually.
- Ask Ss to practice in pairs and call on some pairs to
perform the task at the front of the class.
(5’) 3. Let’s talk: Pairwork
- Practise further by asking and answering the
questions in their book.
-Work in pairs.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of
the class.

I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:listen and learn to sing the
song.

(5’) 1. Listen and number:
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the
Presentation recording and circle a or b. T- whole class
(10’) - Give Ss a few seconds to read the question . Then
guess the answers.
- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and circle.
- Compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.

- Ask they should write about things that really
happened to them.
- Ask students to read the question.
- Ask ss to do the task independently.

- Tell pupils that they are going to play Charades.
- Divide the class into Team A and Team B.Stick a
large sheet of paper on the board with the words:
slowly, loudly, noisily, quietly and beautifully.
- Explain the game is play: One Pupil of Team A
mimes a zoo animal and asks What did I see at the
zoo? The pupil of Team B answers the question . If
the question is correct, Team B wins one point.
Another pupil from Team mimes an action which that
animal does and asks What did you do there? Team B
gives the answer. If the answer is correct. Team B
wins another point. Then it is Team B’s turn to mime
and ask questions. The two team tale turn to mime
Consolidation and ask question. The team that gets more points
Homework wins.

the correct sentence stress.

(5’) - T asks Ss to read what they wrote in Lesson 2, class
Activity 5.
Presentation 1. Listen and repeat:
(10’) - Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying T- whole
questions and answers with the correct sentence class
stress.
- Play the CD and have Ss repeat each word and
sentence.
- Play the CD again and have Ss read in chorus
(10’) 2. Listen and underline the stressed words. Then Individual
say the sentence.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording
and underline teh stressed words in each sentence.
Then say the words aloud.
- Play the recording for them listen .
- Play again for them to do the task.
- Swap and complete their answers in pairs.
- Invite some Ss to read out the words.
- Ask the class to read the sentences aloud.

(10’) 3. Let’s chant: Groupwork
- Introduce the chant What are they going to do ?
- Turn on the tape.
- Ask Ss to read each line of the chant.
- Divide the class into two halves: one says the
question and the other says the answers. Then
change the role.
- Ask Ss to work in groups.
- Invite two or three groups to say the chant and do
the actions.

1. Read and tick:
Presentation - T introduces the topic “you are going to read the Pairwork
(10’) passage and tick the correct symbols.
- Get Ss to read the passage and underline the key
words.
- Ask Ss to read the passage and look for the
information to find out their order.
- Ask Ss to work in pair.
- Ask Ss to do the task independently
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary
- Have ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some ss to report their answers. Others listen
and comment.
(10’) 2. Write about Sports Day: Individual
- Tell pupils that they are going to write about Sports
Day at their own school..
- Have them read the gapped sentences and think
about the words to write.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs or in groups to write the first
draft.
- Ask Ss to do the task individually.
- Ask Ss to swap their answer .
- Invite two or three students to read their answers
aloud.
(10’) 3. Project: Groupwork
- Tell Ss that they are going to draw three sports.
- Ask Ss to do the task.
- Have the class display their drawings.
- Invite two groups to talk to the class about their
dream zoos.
4. Colour the stars.
- Have the class read the statements and check their
comprehension.
- Give ss time to colour the stars and invite a few ss to
read the statements aloud.
