1.0 Presentation

Now, this time we are going to learn


about the three to twelve sided
polygons.

1.1 Modeling
As we go on with our lesson I
want you to listen and observe
carefully so that you can understand
what the lesson is all about. Are you

As we look at the word polygon, poly
means many and gon means angle.
So it is a shape that has many angles.
Now let us look at some of the
polygons.

It is a simple polygon it got 3 sides,


1,2,3, and that is triangle. Tri means 3
And triangle is a shape with 3 sides.
An example for this,is a tricycle that
has 3 wheels.
The next one, we’ve got 4 sides
1,2,3,4, and that’s called quadrilateral
And quad means 4 just like a speed
limit warning sign.
Next one is it has 5 sides 1,2,3,4.5,
and it’s called a pentagon.
Next is 6 sided polygon 1,2,3,4,5,6,
and that is hexagon
This one has 7 sides 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,
and it’s called heptagon.
And next one it has 8 sides
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and it’s called octagon
And next we have 9 sided shape
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, which is called
nonagon.
And 10 sided shape
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, it is called
decagon.
What about 11 sided shape
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11, it is called
undecagon
And the 12 sided shape Video about 3-12 sided polygons.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12, will be
called dodecagon.

Again, let’s take a look the 3-12 sided


polygons.
