Prologue

Wearing a tobacco brown solarie coated shorts and basic oversized coat in the same
color matched with embellished white block heel and LV Onthego GM, I am paving way
to meet my client today.

It’s something related to medical malpractice. I’m a lawyer- clarify ko lang. I am

defending a client whom trying to sue a doctor because may medical malpractice raw
during her father’s surgery na nagcause of his death.

I am still not sure if it is true since it’s my first time of meeting her plus innocent until
proven guilty.

We decided to meet up in her place already. It’s in Forbes park. Mayaman. Nawa’y
lahat.

On my way, may na daanan akong Jollibee drive thru and since wala pa akong
breakfast I decided to grab something.

“Isang C8 nga po. Thank you!” I said on the monitor in front of me. Nakatatak naman
doon ang total na babayaran ko. 135 pesos.

“Please proceed to next window.” Sagot ng monitor.

After I got my order, huminto muna ako sa parking area para kainin ang order ko. Tsaka
na ako pumunta sa Frobes park.
Medyo hassle ang pagpunta ko doon since medyo traffic but when I reach to the gate of
the subdivision it’s already smooth.

Wala siyang gate. It looks so
fancy but lonely. Siguro dahil may bagong namatayan.

You know, let’ break the norms.
agad. Hindi nga nabibili ang literal na kaligayahan pero you can buy something to make
you happy. God! Sinong hindi matutuwa sa trip to Korea? That’s happiness!

I rang the doorbell.

Of course, I’m not famous to expect na kilala niya
ako.

“Attorney Calista Aristizabal.” Pakilala ko with a huge smile printed in my face.

“Kayo po pala! Nandoon po sa madam sa opisina niya. Samahan ko na po kayo.” She

said.

As I enter the door, a huge mosaic painting greeted me. It looks expensive siguro

“You must be Attorney Aristizibal?”
She looks so strong and ruthless. Ang
mga kilay niya ay mukhang de tattoo. Nasa 50+ na siguro ang kanyang edad.

“Yes ma’am.” I replied with politeness.

“I was asking for your adviser which is your sister and yet she said to trust in you,
should I?” She said with a low-tone voice. She’s intimidating but I’m not intimidated.

“You’re the one who’s in control of your trust. I do trust myself so I hope you do trust me
as well.” I replied.

“I like you. Take a seat.” She said with a smirked in here face.

Juiceqolord! Ang weird niya!

We just introduced each other.

“What was this case all about Madam Daicy?” I asked here after some series of joke we
shared to each other.

“I want to sue some doctor because of some medical malpractice.” She replied as she
rolled her eyes.

“Against who?” I curiously asked as I take note of my iPad.

“Doctor Aahil Niazi.” She said.

At that moment, everything freezes.

CHAPTER 1

It’s always been my dream.

“Congratulations! Thank you for your participation in UPCAT this year. We would like to
inform you that your application has complied with the requirements for entry in the
University of the Philippines.

We are pleased to offer you admission as a freshman to the following:

UP Diliman, BS Psychology

First Semester.”

“Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Jesus!”

Aurelia, my 4lyfer. Dali- dali ko siyang tinawagan. Makatapos ang ilang ring ay sinagot
niya ang kanyang phone.

“Hoy! Pumasa ako!” I screamed to her. Excitement and joy cannot contain to me.

“Congrats!” She replied in a very calm voice.

We have totally different personality but we are really a perfect combination. She is my
cousin. We went to the same kindergarten, elementary, and high school campus. She’s
my best friend. Like, despite of all the circle of friends that I am with, I will always go
back to her. To cut it short, she’s my homie.

“Girl! I cannot!” I screamed through my lungs. I heard some chuckles in her background.

“Gret, congrats!” My tita greeted me.

“Thank you tita!” I replied. I received more congratulations from my other cousins which
are her siblings.

“Girl! Effective yung red na panty.” I jokingly said. It’s some inside joke. I wore a red
panty during the exam kasi sabi nila lucky charm daw yun.

Then, I hear some knock of my door.I thought it’s my mom. When I opened it it’s my
brother.
“Nyx! I passed!” I shouted again while shaking both of his shoulder. He’s used to it. I do
it when I saw my crushes, when I have some accomplishment, and everytime that I am
excited.

I saw his eyes widened and a hint of a smile in his lips. After that, he shows his annoyed
face. It’s a sign that he is unhappy of shaking his shoulder. I’m used to it. He always do
it every time.

“I know you can.” He replied. My heart melts in his reply. Sadgirl yarn?

I called my mama and papa. They are as excited as me. I know they are proud of me.
After informing everyone, I posted it in my twitter account. UPCAT result is the only
result that I am waiting. I passed in some school that I applied but I did not posted it yet
since I am posting it all-in-one. It’s a flex.

Notifications were so loud in my phone. My friends and relatives are congratulating me

and all.
