The teacher writes on the screen : „ I can see you...” and asks the students to say whatever comes to their
mind when they see/ hear this phrase. Based on the students previous knowledge , they will be able to make a
connection between the sentence and the topic of crime. Then the teacher writes : „Big brother is watching you”
and asks the students to explain what they understand from this expression. After hearing their explanations, the
teacher tells them that it is a phrase used for government surveillance as a means of controlling and suppressing
the will of the people. The teacher announces the title of the lesson: Crime prevention.
The teacher asks the students to read the headlines of the text on page 75 and predict what the text is
about. Then , in groups they have to read the text and answer the questions in exercise 1 d.
The students are asked to do an exercise where they have to match some words from the text with their
synonyms ( ex 2 / 75) . The teacher asks the students which of the surveillance methods mentioned in the text
seem the scariest and give arguments for their choice.
The teacher announces the homework- write an opinion essay on the following quote: “ Privacy is a
social norm of the past”- M. Zuckerberg
