2. What part/s of speech or specific grammar problems do Filipinos usually have

difficulties with?
English maintained its place as one of the required languages in a subject and in
everyday situation. Below are parts of speech/ grammatical errors that usually becomes
a problem among Filipinos in using the language:
1. Redundancy in using Adjective/ Double comparisons
As an English student and researcher, I have observed that most Filipinos common
error is the excessive use of adjective.
For example,
Example Translation
“Siya talaga yung pinaka-worst sa (“He’s the most worst of
lahat ng ex ko!” all my exes!”)

“Hayaan mo na; makakahanap ka (“Let that go; you will find

rin ng mas better.” someone more better.”)

2. The double tenses. Auxiliary verb such as did, does and do must be followed by
a base form of verb. This is the common error of most Filipinos that do not notice
as they form sentences.

For example,
Where did you came from?
Where did you come from?
3. Pluralizing non-countable nouns
Below are the most common errors:
• Equipments
• Milks
• Furnitures
• Papers
• Flours and etc.
