DEFINISI
Historical Recount is a text which retell about the
chronological events of memorable or important
history about a place or an object occured in the past.
Social Function
The story of historical events in order to inform or
entertain the reader.
Generic Structure
Orientation (introducing the place or an object, setting
of time and place)
Events (it contains the series of chronological events)
Re-orientation (it is optional. In this part, it contains
about the writer’s point of view as the evaluation
about the story)
DEFINITION
Fable is a fictional story which using animals
as characters and intended to give a moral
value as a lesson for the readers.
SOCIAL FUNCTION
Social function or the purpose of a fable is 1.
to amuse/entertain the readers

funny way but in fact the main characteristic
of a fable is containing a moral value which

1. I have learned biography that it’s a detailed description of a person's life. In the activity I can
find out the positive, good character and get inspiration of the person for example Raden
Ajeng Kartini, Sukarno, etc.
2. The key features of biography are use of simple past tense, focus on specific participant, use
of action verb, use temporal sequence and temporal conjunction.
3. I like this material because we know more detailed information from figures such as character,
birth, parents or family, school, carrier, marriage, achievements, death, and moral values.
1. In learning activity 2, I have learned about the memorable historical events. The chronological
events of Heroes’ Day, that is the important story about the heroic efforts of Indonesian
soldiers.
2. The key features of Historical Recount are using specific participant (person, place, or thing),
pronouns, actions verbs, adverb phrased, past tense, adjectives, evaluative words, sequence
connectors).
3. I can increase my pride to love Indonesia, commemorate the struggle of the soldiers and keep
the important history can be alive in my mind. So, I love it.
4. I need to learn more in analyzing and creating of historical recount because there is the
important series of events in the story which is based on the fact.
1. In this learning activity, I have learned that Fable is concerned with a story of animals which is
intended to give a moral value for the readers and I can also anal yze the three aspects of
Fable, they are the social function, the generic structure and the language features.
2. The key features of Fables are using past tense, using animals or nature (non -human
characters) as main characters, containing a moral value and using personification
(anthropomorphized) and reflecting cultural beliefs.
3. I like this material because we can convey a specific moral value through an amusing story to
the students so that can make students excited to study
4. I find it is not easy to create a well-organised fable which fulfills the writing elements (task
response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource and grammatical range and accuracy) as
mentioned in task 5.
1. in this learning I have learned that a legend is a story about human events or actions
that has not been proved nor documented in real history. Legends are retold
as if they are real events and were believed to be historical accounts.
2. The key featured of legend include which is a genre folklore that consists of a narrative
featuring human actions perceived or believed both by teller and listeners to have taken place
within human history. Narratives in this genre may demonstrate human values, and possess
certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude.
3. What I like most about this activity is we can find moral value although legend is fictional story
but usually there is some historical truth at the hearth of every legend.
4. What I need to improve/learn more is I have to know many legend in the world and how to
creating in a good paragraph complete with moral value as a good message.

Recipe is used to describe how food is completely made
or cooked through a sequence of series.

b. Ingredients: This part pf the text describes raw material or
seasoning to make something.
c. Steps or method: This part describes the set of instructio ns
in order to achieve the goal.

1. Definition

of view. It presents pro and contra opinion on certain
issue.
2. Generic structure
a. General statement: to introduce the audience to the
topic of discussion – it can include a question and the
view of the author can be expressed here (called the
discussion‘s thesis)
b. A series of paragraph that have points for and against
