POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT #1:

SETTING: ANYWHERE IN YOUR HOUSE

Daughter: (doing your homework using your old gadget while struggling)
Father: (Entered your room) Done with your homework?
Daughter: (surprised by the sudden appearance of your dad in your room) *smiled* It’s almost
finished, dad. I just have to proofread my works and then I’ll submit it later on. What brings you
here, dad? Did I forgot to do something?
Father: Nope. I just want to check if you’re doing fine.
Daughter: Of course, I do! I love studying! *giggles*
Father: I know that. You always have excellent grades! You never fail to surprise us with your
passion and diligence.
Daughter: Thanks, dad!
Father: Because of your hardwork, your mom and I thought about giving you this. *shows new
gadget (laptop/tablet/phone)*
Daughter: Oh my goodness! I love it! Thank you so much, dad!

Explanation:
Because of the child’s good characteristics such as being hardworking and passionate about
her studies, her Father decided to reinforce her by giving a new gadget.
Positive – giving a new gadget
Reinforcement – she will be motivated, more passionate and hardworking when it comes to her
studies.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT #2:


SETTING: ONLINE CLASSROOM

(Zoom meeting has started)


Students: Good day Ma’am!
Teacher: It is indeed a great day because I have something important to discuss with you.
Students: Is it about our next lesson Miss?
Teacher: Nope. Today, we’re not going to have a lecture. I would just like to take this time to
commend one of my students here in our class.
Student: Really? Who are you referring to? And what did your student do?
Teacher: It came to my attention that there’s this one student of mine who’s known for her
honesty and integrity. And as I’ve said awhile ago, she’s in this cla
Student: (Excited and curious to the announcement)
Teacher: I would like to appreciate Miss *name* for returning the things of our beloved Principal
that includes his money and credit cards. Many people can be tempted with such high amount
of money but Ms. *name* chose to be honest and to keep her integrity.

Explanation:
That student was being reinforced with praises and admiration coming from her teacher and her
classmates.
Positive – giving admirations and praises
Reinforcement – to acknowledged and admired for her actions which will lead her always be
honest.
NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT #1:
SETTING: DINNING TABLE

(While eating dinner with the family)


Mom: Did you still went to the party that you’ve been telling me since last week? I had a terrible
headache last night that I didn’t notice what time you left or even arrived. I just slept all night. I
hope your home before your given curfew.
Daughter: You don’t have to worry, mom. I’ve decided not to go since no one will look after you.
I was so worried and I know that I won’t enjoy the party unless I’m guaranteed that you’re fine.
Mom: (moved by her daughter’s loving concern)
Mom: I’m surprised and touched, *insert name of the daughter* I’m sorry you missed your most
awaited party. But honestly, it made me trust you with your decisions more! Because of that I’m
now removing your curfew.
Daughter: Are you really serious about that mom? I can’t believe it! I’ve been living my whole
19 years of existence with a curfew! I am indeed happy! I promise not to disappoint you.

Explanation:
By removing the curfew, it reinforced the daughter to continually be responsible and disciplined
in her decisions.

SCENE: NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT


SETTING: HOME
ACTORS: MOTHER, CHILD (STUDENT)

(The child walks to the room filled with excitement, bringing his/her test result)

Child: Mom! Mom! Mom! This is my report card, I got a perfect score from my Science class!
Mother: Wow! That’s nice, I’m proud of you!
Child: I studied very hard for that test mom.
Mother: Yes, I know (name of child)

(In the evening, the child is washing the dishes)


(Mother takes over the dishes)

Mother: Oh (name of child) , you just got a perfect score from your test, you should take the
rest of the time to relax and I’ll do the regular chores for you. Just focus yourself in studying and
resting.
Child: Thanks mom! I will really do my best to make you proud again!

Explanation of the scene: The scenario indicates that the mother reinforce his/her child to
keep up the good grades by reducing the regular chores of the child.
Negative - Taking/ reducing the child’s chores
Reinforcement - Giving his/her child time to rest in order to make his/her child focus on
studying and keeping up the good grades
SCENE: POSITIVE PUNISHMENT
SETTING: HOME
ACTORS: MOTHER, CHILD (STUDENT)

(Mother angrily shouting the name of his/her child)

Child: Wait mom! I’m playing!


(Playing with his/her cellphone)

Mother: Come here, right now!


(Hurriedly come to her mother)

Child: Mom? (terrified)

(Mother angrily scolding his/her child)

Mother: Your teacher called me, I can’t believe this! You failed in your test in Math.
Child: Oh, um. I’m so sorry Mom.
Mother: You’re always sorry! I didn’t even see you studying! All you do is play video games all
day! What can you get from playing games 24/7!
Mother: When can you start learning from your mistakes!
Child: (crying) I’m really sorry Mom, I will not do it again. I’ll study very hard next time.

Explanation of the scene: The scenario indicates that the mother punished his/her child by
scolding in order for the child to realize their mistakes and not doing it again.
Positive- scolding the child for not studying and playing video games all day
Punishment - making the child learn from their mistakes and avoid their self to be scolded
again

SCENE: POSITIVE PUNISHMENT


SETTING: ONLINE CLASS/ CLASSROOM
ACTORS: TEACHER, STUDENT 1, STUDENT 2

(Teacher entered the classroom)

Teacher: Okay class, pass your assignment right now

(Student 2 passing his/her assignment)


(Student 1 forgot to his/her assignment with anxious action)
(Teacher noticed student 1)

Teacher: Ms. (name of student 1), where’s your assignment?


Student 1: I’m sorry Ma’am I forgot to do the assignment.
Teacher: (sigh)
Teacher: Class, I gave you enough time to do the assignment right?
Student 2: Yes Ma’am
Student 1: I’m very sorry ma’am
Teacher: Okay I will still consider your work. You can pass it tomorrow but as your punishment,
you will be receiving additional assignment. Am I clear?
Student 1: Yes ma’am, thank you for your consideration.
Explanation of the scene: The teacher was able to provide positive punishment to the student
who forgot to do her assignment by adding extra work to the student.
Positive - Giving the student additional assignment
Punishment - To stop the student from being irresponsible when in comes to assignments.

SCENE : NEGATIVE PUNISHMENT


SETTING : HOME
ACTORS : MOM, DAUGHTER.

( The daughter and her mom is having an argument, for the reason why the daughter just keeps
on using her cellphone rather than paying attention to the chores that has been given to her )

Mom : You keeps on using your phone, and didn’t even doing the chores anymore!
Daughter : I am doing it!
Mom : Stop, give me your phone.
Daughter : Ugh. ( she gives her phone to her mom )

Explanation of the scene : The mother decided to confiscate her daughter’s phone upon
observing that it affects her daughter’s duty on their household.
Negative – Mom’s confiscating her daughter’s phone.
Punishment – Trying to teach her daughter a lesson about prioritizing her duties than using her
phone all the time.

SCENE : NEGATIVE PUNISHMENT


SETTING : MESSENGER APP ( IN THE VIDEO, IT IS BETTER IF IT IS SCREEN RECORDED
)
ACTORS : PROFESSOR, STUDENT.

( The professor decided to contact her student because of her student’s inactivity and absences.
The professor want to inform the student that she will be dropped out on her subject. )

Professor : Good evening, miss ( student’s surname ). I keep on reaching out on you about this
matter, I am here to inform you that you will be dropped out on my subject.
Student : I am sorry, ma’am. Is there anything I can do?
Professor : I apologize, but I already gave you lots of chances. You will be dropped out on my
subject.

Explanation of the scene : The professor finally decided to drop her student off in her subject,
because of her absences, lacking of important works, and inactivity.
Negative – The student has been remove by the professor in her subject.
Punishment – The professor did everything she could do to reach out her student but because
of the student’s lack of willingness and motivation to be saved, the professor already made her
decision.
SCENE : COGNITIVE THEORY
SETTING : GOOGLE APP. ( It will be shown in the video that the student is searching in
google chrome )
ACTORS : STUDENTS.

( Learners decided to search about the report that has been given by their professor )

Student 1 : I will be searching about the cognitive learning theory, social learning theory and
application theory.
Student 2 : I am will be searching for social learning theory.
Student 3 : Okay, application theory is mine.

Explanation of the scene : Cognitive learning theory is how people process information when
they learn, and one example of it is, “explicit learning” it is when people seek knowledge about a
certain matter.

I put three actors here since in the canvas, ma’am stated that perform a “group scenario” about
this theory.
