“no water closet shall be discharge into a drain less than 75mm dia. Pipe.” Therefore, a 100 mm pipe
diameter will be specified.

Probable demand of water is max demand subtracted by reduced demand of 25%-50%. Assume
reduction of 30%
P = P(ave.) – P (static)
• Assuming the water district of city is 40 PSI
• 1 ft of water column 0.43 psi
• Length of second floor = 10ft
P = 40 psi – 4.3 psi = 35.7 psi (water pressure tank for up feed)
Determining the pipe size and meter size
-from RNPCP table 6.6
In reference to table 9-1 in the “plumbing design and estimate textbook by M.B. Fajardo Jr.”, under
the column of 2% slope, a 125 mm (5 inches) pipe will be needed for a roof with 345.6474 sq. m.

In reference to table 9-2 in the “plumbing design and estimate textbook by M.B. Fajardo Jr.”, we can
determine the gutter top sizes and gutter leader sizes using the gutter areas of the roof.
TECHNICAL DATA IN DETERMINING VOLUME OF SEPTIC TANK
Minimum width 90 cm
Minimum length 150 cm
Minimum depth 120 cm
Using technical data in page 92 of “plumbing design and estimate textbook by M.B. Fajardo Jr.”, the
volume of the septic tank should not have liquid content more than 2.0 cu.meters.
For small residential house to serve up to 12 persons, the chamber should have a liquid content of
not more than- 2.0 cu.meters
