Position Purpose:
Assist the Infrastructure personnel with various tasks in performing various maintenance and other activities in prescribed
quality and safety standards in Perway.

Locations:
• Postmasburg
• Kimberley
Position outputs:
•Assist with replacing of tracks, sleepers (wooden or concrete, sleeper’s clips, boxes, contact wire, culverts, etc.
•Assist with maintaining and repairing of track slack, contact wire slack, droppers, etc.

•Assist in replacing and cleaning of ballast stones (crushed stones surrounding the tracks & sleepers) in accordance to
standard operating procedures.
•Perform trench excavations as well as handling or laydown any kind of services to trenches and do backfilling.
•Clean and store Perway, Electrical and Signaling equipment/tools to ensure that they are ready for usage for the next shift.
•Load and off-load materials on and from the vehicles.
•Stack material and ladders in a correct manner and in safe place.
•Perform general site maintenance which involves:
#Removing weeds
#Stacking materials
#Sweeping floors
#Removing and disposing excess/rubble materials.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 9 (Std 7)
• A minimum of 6 months of relevant working experience within Infrastructure Maintenance/ construction.
